I have firefox and work computer and home PC and it runs the same way on both. May be the tab extension I added. Not really sure.

No, he's right. Firefox may load Bungie a second slower, but it also takes longer for the forums to refresh than a browser like Safari, or Microsoft Explorer.

It's the computer. I use FireFox on both my work and home pc's. My home pc (which is far more powerful) is much faster than my work pc.

It takes forever for posts to show up regardless of pc speed, or browser.

If you know this is off topic, post it in The Flood, not in Zanzibar.

I had an issue with the cached pages not refreshing, so i saw the same list of posts for a while. All I did was reduce the size of the cahce and it fixed that, but my FireFox flies on Bungie.net.

I have the same problem, almost makes the site unviewable. Im thinking it either requires an insane amount of processor power in firefox to view or the people it works fine on have a different setup of firefox

I've noticed that the Bungie.net webpages load VERY slowly in Firefox on slower computers. I have to use my 3GHz desktop to view the forums at any decent speed at all. On my 1GHz laptop, they crawl. Part of it has to do with the silly bar across the bottom of the screen. If Bungie were to get rid of that and make the pages easier to load, the site would be a lot faster.

As to posts being slow to appear, that's not your computer doing that - it's Bungie's overloade forum servers being slow and laggy. Bungie needs more bandwidth and faster servers - surely Microsoft can do something about that for them? Or maybe they need to get Linux servers...those are usually faster anyway - less overhead.

The reason i posted here is because I know this forum gets most traffic and that I would get some half way serious responses to the post

yes I do have the tab extension installed in my Firefox.

People people, i know that Firefox is a good browser but i stopped to use it because Bungie.net was very slow with it. I solved the problem by downloading the Opera web browser and i think that you guys should too. You can download it from here.

the website just isn't optimized for use with firefox. i have the same problem (and also have the tab extension). I just use IE for b.net and firefox for the rest of the internet.

I really like the Firefox browser and have just recently gotten comfortable using it after all the years of IE. So I think I will stick with it. I was just curious about the site and Firefox compatibility.

i would do the same but the tabbed feature is so awesome when viewing forums and threads you have created and links posted within threads.

I use FireFox but I pumped up draw speeds from a post I saw on another forum concerning it. If I can find the forum again I'll give it to you. The scroll is kind of choppy but everything loads fast.

Yeah, it's not just on Bungie's site . . . I started using Firefox about a month ago when the gaping security holes in IE just became too much (one of the guys I work with got a keystroke-logging piece of malware on his PC after looking at a web page with IE even though it had all the latest updates, Service Pack 2 etc) but I do find it a bit buggy and slow. It seems to have repaint issues in general - apart from menus being slow, scrolling up and down the screen with the mouse wheel is noticeably flickery.

As for this being off topic, like the guy says, a lot less people would see it in The Flood and it is something of interest to a lot of people who read these forums as the number of replies suggests. It really isn't the end of the world - he said it was off topic in the title, if it pains you so much don't read the damn thread. Seriously dude, get a life . . .
