Ok when I first seen the E3 trailer iwas like oh my F**k duel uzis... pretty much everybodys responce that was watchin the trailer with me... then the new screen shots came out and when i was examining them i noticed that one of the guys is holding a boomstick in one hand.. we're talkin an 8 gauge here thats crazy but then i thought well its master chief if hes walkin around in 2 ton armor i guess he could fire a shotgun one handed.. but my friend didnt think so all he could do was shake his head and say "their goin to f**k it up! their goin to f**k it up!" lol anyways what are ur guys opinions.

dual weapon is a tricky thing.

It has to be balanced. Maybe two handed users can't throw grenades.

Also, the reloading can be a problem.

This is what I did:

Play through Halo: CE and imagine that you have an extra weapon in your left hand. Imagine that you don't have the grenade for L and instead have another plasma pistol or whatever. Go around corners and mess around, imagining that you have two weapons instead.

That's what I did, and I concluded -- to myself -- that it would be a badass idea; just have faith in Bungie; this will make the game a whole lot better, trust them

i think they already said in one of the H2 updates that u cant throw grenades with 2 weapons. And they said its going to be balanced.

Finally, Plasma pistol/Human pistol combo will rule!

They can't throw grenades, as they shouldn't

L is for the left hand, R is for the right: simple

They also said you can't melee attack while dual-wielding.

Yeah, its reasonable to have your ability to throw grenades while haveing dual weapons revoked. But as others said, some will be able to use it with ease, others it will take serious practice. In my opinion, using grenades is one of the key things to do in terms of winning a death match. Using them with strategy is a flawless plan. I truly cherish the ability of using grenades and to have that ability taken away, just sucks. I dont think I will be using dual weapons too much, but its still a wicked idea.

Exactly, and that's one factor going into making the dual-wiedling 'non cheap'.

I'll tell you one thing that would screw the game though: If Bungie puts a timer on how long you can hold dual-weapons...*shudders again*

Nah, they wont do that, its unrealistic. There are never timers on firearms stating how long you can hold it. Thats the most idiodic thing I have ever heard.

O yea, I'm in total agreement with that

It's just I'm wondering how they will balance it all out: E3 would be a good place to answer questions...

Its also possible that you won't even be able to have any weapons besides the two your holding, that'd really help balance it. Also, there will probably be a reduction in accuracy.

Yea, that's pretty much what we all expect it to be; the E3 demo was just an exception, I'm sure

StatanJesus, he wasnt holding a shotgun in the other hand as well as another weapon, he was simply switching to his shotgun while dying from what looks like chaingun rounds...see the battle rifle and grenades he's dropping? Now who agrees with me?

yeah i thinks hes correct, he wasn't dual wielding, he had the shotgun out and his other weapon was the battle rifle (or whatever the other weapon was)when he died he dropped both weapons, just like in Halo: CE. I thought this was obvious and was shocked that this doesn' seem to occur to most people

In the screen shot that the spartan has the shot gun in one hand, its not what it seems. there are two possibilities of whats happening:

1) the spartan is picking up the shotgun and dropping the Battle Rifle or...

2) The explosion in front of the spartan has killed him and he is in the motion of dropping his armed shot gun. The battle rifle and plasma grenades that are falling around him were in his inventory and are also falling to the ground because he is dead.

That is whats happening. Bungie has already said that there is a difference between one handed and two handed weapons. They aren't going to -blam!- it up.

One of you brought up a good point in noting the E3 demo, that the MC switches between 2 smg's and a battle rifle. It would be interesting, customizing the weapon swapping like that. Think of it in slots. There are 2 slots, of which most weapons take up one. You can only wield one slot at a time. Some weapons take up only half a slot, hence their ability to be weilded with another weapon that takes up the rest of that slot. Now, you can't fire when you throw a grenade with a weapon that takes one full slot, but here's a thought. Would you be able to fire simultaneously while throwing a grenade with a weapon that's one handed? I'll leave it to you guys.

I think it was Shiska who had reason to believe this based information from Bungie (mainly Jaime).

I don't see why they would do that, you should still be able to melee the same way the Elites did in Halo 1.

Of course you can't throw two grenades when you have both weapons out(unles they are small grenade launchers)

Dual Weapons is a great idea. You don't balance out dual weapons, imo.

Dual Weapons = Twice the Firepower = Twice as Deadly
That's the whole purpose of dual wielding coupled with the ability to mix in a little shield busters/flesh rippers.

In an effort to add balance..
I'm a strong believer that we should only be able to carry two weapons at all times. Just like the original, but with the ability to dual wield specific weapons. This way it is somewhat balanced in a different sense.. You don't have long range firepower if you are carrying dual wield'ables. BUT, dual wielding would be the shiggity bomb for up close and personal engagements with enemies and vehicles.

Maybe you wont be able to use the 'sprint' ablilty when using two weapons at the same time?
Also going slightly off subject, but all the rumors about the MC/Spartans having 'Special abilites'. If this proves true and they do have the muliplayer spartan vs. elite games will the elites have different type of abilties to the spartans? e.g are stronger but shields aren't as strong etc... im not quite sure yet whether this would be a good thing or bad....

We all know that bungie are gods though, so they will get it right... :)
