Someone should create a script showing how many times someone has viewed your b.net profile. I don't know if it would work but that would be awesome! :)It would only increment for people whom have that particular script installed.
OK, new stuff now.
Thread Ratings - Version 1.0
http://bnetratings.dazarobbo.comlu.com/web/ - Check the ratings manually
The idea: Good stuff is sometimes hard to find here. If you find an interesting thread, rate it up, and if you find a thread boring, rate it down. This way it's easier for other people to find interesting stuff to read as well, and to "block-out" stupid stuff.
What this does: When you click on the green or red hand (yes, I stole them from Youtube), you're sending a rating (either 1, or -1, respectively) to a database along with the postID of the thread (aka. the OP's post). Nothing else from the site is sent. Not your username, not the subject title, nor any posts. Which is why it's OK to use this in groups too.
Now for the juicy part: As always, I've give you some options to play around with. You can:
- Decide whether you want negatively rated threads to "fade"
- How much you want them to fade.
- The rating threshold for fading (ie. if a thread is rated as -4, and your threshold you've chosen is set to -3, the thread will fade from the forum page).
- Decide whether you want negatively rated thread to be "removed"
- The threshold for a threads removal (ie. if a thread is rated as -5, and your threshold you've chosen is set to -5, the thread will *poof* disappear from the forum page.
I'll be making up some more PHP scripts so that even if you don't want to use the script with Greasemonkey, you'll still be able to use a web page to see what might be good to read.
PLEASE NOTE:
The idea for this is NOT some kind of way to fill your ego. It is NOT a way of saying, "Hey, look! I have +10 ratings more in my thread than you. haha!". If this ends up happening, I won't hesitate in removing all access to those whom are undeserving, and those who are will be given passwords to use it.
Error Messages
The one error you will likely encounter is "Verification error: (4)". Don't worry about this at all. It's by design and is not a bug. Just give it a couple of minutes before you try rating again.
Enjoy!
