Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Not as much as I used to, but they still come in handy for quickly linking people to threads which likely contain their answers.

I don't use either, Duardo. But since you're here, I should let you know that Profile Stats link is sort of broken. I made a new post for it yesterday, so if you could use the link(s)..?

Usually you'd find it out through bungie.me, but since that isn't updating...
If you want to see your PPD and account age when you visit your profile (on Firefox) this is the Greasemonkey script for it.

If you don't have Greasemonkey, you have to install that for Firefox first.

I was actually thinking similar. Widen the banner (Move the Bungie logo a bit to the right, and the user related (utilityNav div) to the right.
Add an item "Links" to the "ctl00_dashboardNav_navigationMenuList" div, and allow adding named links to it. That would be awesome.

I use a heavily modded version of it, and no, I rarely use them.

Nope.

Would be nice to get a link to the Halo Waypoint forums implemented somewhere in there though..

I use Chrome and I don't know if it would be possible, but you know how like when you get a notification on Facebook or Twitter a [1] will appear in the tab bar at the top? Well, is it possible to do that for Bungie.net?

While on the subject of notifications, if one hasn't been made already, what about also making a script that notifies you if you've been quoted? It's honestly my most anticipated feature for the site.

If someone does plan on accepting these requests, please make it compatible for Chrome!

Of course it would... I don't know how hard it is to make a script, but it's an idea, and somebody can start it as a project.

Why is there always a need to shoot down every idea someone comes up with?

Heres a simple one. Someone make a script that removes the 'ctl00_mainContent_goDarkPanel' div under the */createpost.aspx*
i.e. that thing that says Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

There's not too much information in the OP about the Opera version.

Would it be better to consult the "official" group?

Not every idea gets shot down, just the ideas that have downsides to them. Like yours for example, there is a lot of data to search and it would take awhile for the script to search everything.

As far as I know, xReconAssassinX , it is currently NOT possible to have notifications. Reason being is that these forums are way different than, say, Facebook. On Facebook, you basically create a thread, and people respond to it. Sure, that would make for some notifications, but that is the only way.

HBO have forums set up where it's like a tree. The trunk is the thread, branches are connected to the trunk, so people can reply directly to the OP, but then there are twigs which are only connected to the branches, these are replies directly to other replies. In this scenario it's possible to implement notifications for quoting and whatnot.

Bungie.net doesn't do that though. Even when quoting, the reply is tied directly to the OP, so the only notification you'd have is that a reply was made in the thread.

Hope I explained it well enough..

@DDD Some of them work for Opera, some don't. Not really too familiar with it. if littlerat is active you should probably message him.

Surprisingly I actually understood that, and that really sucks. :/

In thought, it just seemed simple enough to where if someone quoted you it could trigger a notification to be sent to you.

GOLD TEXT1! doesn't work for me. Is it because it is an extremely old version, or is it just because the script extension is not compatible with Google Chrome?

I had an idea about notifications a little while ago, I reckon it's possible BUT (and it's a big but) it would require the search feature to be upgraded. Achronos has said before that the forum software is old and needs to be replaced, and I can only assume that a working search feature is inevitable.

My idea is that the script would periodically run a search with certain criteria, e.g. searching for the text "Zoidberg25" for any mentions of the username, or "Posted by: Zoidberg25" to find only quotes. The script would then check the date of the post and whether it's been added as a notification already (or something..) and, if it hasn't, it'd add the notification to the queue with a link and whatever.

So yeah, as far as I can tell, this wouldn't be possible right now (not a decent implementation anyway), but could be possible in the future? No idea if this idea has been discussed before or if it's really obvious, just thought I'd share it.

I've tried it. Firstly the Bnet Search doesn't even update live, it's like weird it can take a week for some, months for others.

I used Google search instead using a exact result. But in short there is too much data to go through and clean for it just to be a script.

Why can't you just have the script track the threads you post in for the next 30 or so minutes and after that have it stop tracking the thread?

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

My idea would be to have each reply have a specific number (e.g. 1, 2, 3, etc.), and then when the reply button on that post is hit you are notified.

Or even, since each post has it's own ID, once the reply button is hit on that ID, you are notified.

Though this would only mean your most recent posts...and if you post 100+ a day then it may not be worth it...

Just a thought.

That's what I mean about the site search having to be updated. I hate the current search feature for the reasons you mentioned.
