I'd like to be half-man half-tree in an octopus' garden in the shade.

It seems that resizing the textfield is FF-only, too.

If I had one wish for Bungie.net, it would be to be able to change my username. Even if it cost me Microsoft Fun-Money, Space Bucks, or Stosh Dollars. That is all.

Any way to get these to work on the Firefox 4.0 beta?

Anything that requires saving data is FF only because back when those features were written localstorage wasn't a cool guy.

Well poo. Let me try to figure out how to at least make the textfield normal size for Chrome users. Please hold.

I'm pretty sure you meant to type "4.4.1", Duardo. I'll download it and test it, by the way.

Also, "The Precursor, The Flood, and the Acceleration of Evolution" was removed from the Universe's topics section under "Useful links". Any reason why that's gone, but Three Children is still there?

Hmm, I like the 4.1.1 update, but will the text field remain that small every time I go to post? Will I be required to expand it each time?

Make it bigger then! Just press the resize buttons and then save textfield size.

Oh, so that's how you get the Textfield to stay resized...

So I got bored and made something cool.

Live Post Preview

As you type out a reply (ie. in the same box I'm currently typing in at the moment), the post will be rendered as if it were a reply in another box between this one and the "Subject" box just above. That is, the BBCode tags you use will be parsed EXACTLY the same way that Bungie.net does it. Frankly, I think this is the best script I've made.

Issues: There is a little "lag time" between if and when you quote someone and the responsiveness of the script. This is normal.

I also threw in the [img] tag just for the hell of it too. Enjoy!

I remember wondering if something like this was even possible. Seems pretty cool bro. Nice.

Nope :(

Why can't everybody make them work for Chrome? For me, Firefox is a lot more inconsistent than Chrome, and I don't want to be forced to use Firefox to have all these cool scripts that are so beneficial.

  • 12.14.2010 1:25 AM PDT

OK, it works in Chrome now as well (probably Opera and Safari too). The reasons for it not working before are complicated.

Edit: Firefox 4 Beta users can grab Greasemonkey from here (I got the one from November 25th). Just be aware that these are nightly builds from the person who maintains Greasemonkey, so it [Greasemonkey] may not be "stable", although I haven't had any problems yet.

This is one of the best scripts I've ever used. It just passively helps you, and saves time. Truly beneficial!

Since Greasemonkey is on Firefox only (at the moment), it's difficult to make them work for both. Extensions haven't been around for very long anyways, so you gotta be patient while people learn hot to do Chrome properly.

Note to scripters, Chrome is so much more beautiful to dev on. Extensions and Apps are just amazing.

Trust me, it was a whole lot worse 6 months ago. I had to get a guy to go through it all and delete all of these unnecessary spaces.
