Ok Splinter... dude.... this thread began as a specualation ok... there were doubters, much like yourself, so we got working trying to find connections, and we surprisingly found many... many of you believe in what we are saying and some of you dont, and that is perfectly fine. For all I know we won't see a single pyramid in Halo 2, but it never hurts to try and it never hurts back it up with crap loads of connections lol :p.... believe what you will but please, just remember that this is SPECULATION... we could be wrong but we could be very right, it is looking very convincing to me anyway... so belive hat you want, just remember this is pure discussion..

So are what are you arguing about... are you arguing about agreeing with the fact that it's all fiction and that this could truthfully happen? I'm confused...
anyway a new small discovery... the Great Pyramid of Khufu in Giza is the sole surviving 7 (yes another 7) Ancient Wonders of the World.... and the Great Sphinx is said to be older than 10,000 years BC... more mysterys keep on coming...

Shifty

If the gips are 7000 years old and they built the Pyramids' then how can they be 10 000 years old??
and they did build them.

http://www.anniebees.com/Egypt/Giza_2.htm look at the very bottom... it says it right there.... eat your heart out
And i say again, fiction and twist history i mean look at Return to Castle Wolfenstien for one small example..... If you actually think the -blam!-s and Allies fought zombies and that Hitler was trying to raise and army of dead guys then dude, you are truly FUBAR

Shifty

EDIT: We're not flaming you, we're aruging with you because the only reason you think this theory is bull -blam!- is because you're saying that it wont happen because Fiction cant change the "real" history... when really they are just trying to make a great story... you're right this may very well be just a bunch of non-sense... but maybe we're right... just let theories be theories

The Pyramids in Mexico could just be another connection...
I don't know if this has been said yet, but in the books, on a mission MC retrieves a forerunner artifact with symbols on it, he and even Cortana, and many others said they resembled Aztec script... The Aztec built pyramids and there are theories that they were in contact with extra terrestrial life. But this is still all just in theory.

..... if the covenant had brains, they would realise that to wipe out mankind, wiping out our fighting force would be a good first move. if people had brains, they would see that the covenant would do this, and therefore move troops into a more remote country to fight in rather that say america, new mombasa looks all tech, imagine new york. enter africa, a simple country in comparision, a protectorate, what better place? keep the main target in with civilians, or take the fight somewhere safer? as for covenant jsut not glassing it to find artifacts, well i have a feeling they know that spartans survived reach, will they risk it again? as for artifacts in pyramids, that reminds me of kids TV card game shows like yu gi oh, and i hope that never happens to halo. perhaps for whatever reason the covenant hate us, they see fit that conquering earth should be a pilgrimage? a challenge or test for covenant trying to prove something? only time will tell. and guys stop flaming, its most uncool. jsut follow in the footsteps of the gnome avatar.

what makes you think africa is a more remote country, tis the future, i would say that most of earth is pretty much equal all round, and africa isnt considered third world anymore.

*edit* also what your saying is not covenant behaviour, it goes against all thier other tactics, and thier way of fighting

The main reason why we aren't talking about the Mexican Pyramids is because we haven't found enough evidence to support them. Since I was one of the founders of this topic, let me summarize what we've talked about so far, what it means, and what supports it.

We tried to figure out why the Covenant simply didn't glass Earth. We figured they must be looking for something. So we started searching where they land. New Mombasa, which was showcased at the 2003 E3 Demo is an imaginary city, but, There is a real Mombasa, located at The southern tip of Kenya. So, we tried to think what there is in Africa that could be important to the Covenant. And it hit us - the Pyramids of Egypt! These pyramids were very ahead of their time, and historians are at a loss as to how they could have been created. Knowing how the Covenant search for Forerunner artifacts, and how advanced the pyramids were, we came to a conclusion that the pyramids could have been created by the Forerunners.

We noticed that at the 2004 E3 Demo, which introduces Zanzibar, it says it is 20 clicks north of the Covenant's point of incursion. We went to a map, and found out that that point is Dar es Salaam, which translates to something like Holy Burial Grounds (we couldnt get it exactly, but we think we were close, as some of us have Arabic Heritage). Now, in a lot of shooter games, multiplayer maps are settings which were passed by in a game, or were talked about. You don't have to play in them in the single player, but they're usually around where your single player is. So we figured that once the Humans find out that the Covenant are looking for the pyramids, they will race them there, fighting battles along the way. Examples are the battle at New Mombasa, which is in Kenya, along the way (single player) and Zanzibar, which is at Tanzania, and is also along the way (multiplayer).

Now, going back to the pyramids, we thought about how they could relate to the Halos. We came up with a theory that states that they point to the Halos. And then, we thought about the possibility of the Flood being stored there, although that is just going wild.

To finish things off, we will make connections between the Forerunners and Egypt. First, there are the Forerunner symbols, which seem to look like hieoglyphics. Second, there is the Spartan's knowledge of those symbols, meaning they could have learned that in one of Deja's classes. And third, there is the Forerunners way to be ahead of everything else as the Pyramids were. Covenant Prophets also look like Pharhos. Did we mention the wallpaper which Bungie published a while back... that shows Egyptian hieroglyphics and drawings?

Oh ya, and, 2 archaeologists found bones in AFRICA which prolonged the original theory of origin of Humans by about a million years! (this was in 1972).

The few, the proud, the leet.

Warning, my ranting is quite legnthy.

Hey, I'm still on page 6, but I just thought of something. When someone mentioned the 52 degree thing and how bungie likes the number seven, it made me think about all the other things bungie did with seven. like 343GS is 7x7=343, etc.

The Covenant has seven species: Grunt, Jackal, Elite, Hunter, Brute, Prophet, and Engineer. How does one get into the Covenant by the way? Does a species have to meet some sort of technological requirement, software capabilities, number of nostril hairs, etc.... Whatever it is, what if Humans meet this requirement? But, the Covenant find the number seven holy. Or even something else, the number eight their equivilant of unholy? This would cause them to not want humans into the Covenant.

Along with nostril hairs, my guess is that there has to be some sort of relation to the Forerunner, in any way whatsoever; be it direct lineage, or fossilized poop. My guess is that it has to do with the crystals that the novels focus on. In FoR, on the planet John origionated from, the crystal leads to the planet Threshold, more importantly, Halo 04. And when the Covenant get to Reach, they find the "Slipspace Crystal" as I like to call it. If I was Covenant, a species living on these planets with these crystals on it would make me wonder if they're stockpiling them on their home planet.

Now assuming that the Covenant had rumors going around about this huge weapon called Halo, and they saw the Pillar of Autumn enter slipspace right to it, and they didn't want Humans in the Covenant because of their unholyness, then this would put them in quite a predicament. Humans knew, in their point of view, of Halo, giving them reason to be in the Covenant.

After the destruction of Halo 04, MC flies outbound and eventually turns back to find Covenant cruisers and a flagship. Because of the nature of the flagship, I would have to assume that the small fleet jumped in minutes before the destruction of Halo. By then, they should have reports of all that has happened with the flood and the crew of the Autumn. If I was in the Covenant, and saw the destruction of Halo, I would assume that it was the Humans who destroyed Halo, which indeed happened. Wouldn't it appear that Humans, who the covenant weren't letting into their ranks, destroyed something that the covenant was having a difficult time with? That would make it appear that Humans had a closer relationship to the Forerunner than they previously thought.

bleh, sorry, I just kinda kept on ranting.

Back on subject, my guess as to why the covenant haven't glassed earth yet is the SuperMACs orbiting Earth. Either that, or the covenant are beginning to believe more and more that Humans are their Gods, and they're trying to search their planet for proof that they are.

And I dont believe that anyone has said that it's not only Africa that is being attacked by the Covenant. My guess, is that it's just in Africa, where the plot is going to be the best.

I do believe some would call this, brain food.
