All in all, I'm satisfied. There are alot of complaints though, and some are justified. I don't mind paying for any DLC, at any cost strictly because my dedication to Halo has no end, and I am also fortunate enough to afford any price. But, I still get a small feeling of exploitation here. You know we want the DLC so bad that the most of us won't wait until it's free, or better yet simply can't wait. So as with any other popular MMOG, we will shell out our cash on these items to get them asap, for any number of reasons. Therefore, you (Bungie?Microsoft) will make a killing, no matter how much you talk it down. There are so many out there who can't afford it and are extremely lucky to have what they have now.

Rant & Rave session over. So, how about some more pics of the DLC or some more info on how cheating, namely standby cheating will be taken care of. I'm at a loss as to how you could actually fix or even dissuade standby cheating. I know there's some way but it's been something I've always wondered about.

I am still gracious towards Bungie but...........reluctantly.

I do agree with Icey Fish wholeheartedly. I liked Hang 'em High and sidewinder ALOT!! But, for me, I know these new maps will more than make up for it. By the sheer size and detail of them I've heard so far, they should be more than enough.

They did not earn enough millions, thats why the maps cost money, and there are enough idiots out the who pay. Its a shame.

Yeah, freaking 9 maps will totally change the game. However, I was hoping for a few more tidbits about how the playlists are going to be updated, and more specifically- when can we expect that. I know the cheating updates will be in a few weeks, they said it would be before the maps- but what about the playlist changes?

Anywho, props to Bungie for releasing practically a second game, the maps look awesome, and very well designed. Waiting another month isn't too too bad, because four maps at once will totally change the game.

Now let's hope when they say they're perfecting melee and grenade combat, that they're making both more powerful. I swear, on Halo 1, I could throw a nade into the mix and get like 4 kills- on Halo 2, I can unload my nades into a group of people and get none, the splash damage is so random. I hope that gets fixed.

Good stuff, Bungie.

I wonder If someone can answer this for me. Will these downloads be integrated into your system ( like they are apart of your H2 disc origanal maps) OR will they be downloaded Its' own H2 Hard drive slot(kinda like player profiles) ????????????????

This week we finally answer the really, really pressing questions. What are the maps, when are they coming, what do they cost, how you get them and what this means to folks who don't have Xbox Live. Hot, hot, hot.

YAY! YAY! YAY! YAY!

Maybe it is me or that I am old but, you all are repeating the same thing over and over and over. I think you call can read and most can type....well some of you anyway. Now we have what we asked for and you complain. Just like when H2 was first talked about we asked for what we are getting. No load times and dual wielding and we got it. So what did we do complain. Now the community asks for DLC and makes it available to everyone and what happened....WE GOT IT!!!! So what if it is $20 for a disk so those without XBL can get the same experience as those with. THAT IS WHAT WE ASKED FOR!! You have to expect some cost for getting 9 maps in a relatively short amount of time. I have looked at the content of other games and from what I researched no other company has release this much stuff including fixes and enhancements in the span of 4 months. No other company has committed to this either. When UBI had issues with GR1-2 or the Rainbow Series it took them months and months to even say they were fixing things and then their fixes created more issues. Not to mention that both games forced you to PAY for 3 maps that were poorly developed.
Not to rant against them but, other systems have had NOTHING. I mean what do you get from the PS2 in the way of content???!!! Game Cube???!!! They can not even fix issues with a game post release.
Back to subject though, you can get the maps for free (yes all of them) by the end of the summer. The Disk will contain all fixes and maps + extra content. We will have to pay to get them early but, hey at maybe 1.99 a download. Tell me you can not skip lunch once to pay for this or hell ask Mom and Dad for $2 to get a map to play for hours and keep you occupied. I am guessing they will gladly shut you up for $2 buck or heck $20 for that matter. To the fact we have to wait till April is here so the fixes can bounce the cheats from the game. Relax and just wait it out. All good things come to those who wait. Besides knowing MS a Stats reset should follow and then when you are owning the crap out of people who can't play everyone will know it is for real.

WOW bungie youve seemed to have screwed up another holiday for us why dont you go ahead and tell us what youve spent all the money from sales of halo 2. Im sure you spent it on the new multiplayer maps RIGHT? So why do we need to spend more of our hard earned dollars to get new maps? Sounds like somones greedy RIGHT?

by late april we get cheat/glitch fixes and updates including split screen changes and so on... we also get 2 free maps (Containment, Warlock) and are able to purchase 2 additional maps (Sanctuary, Turf) for $5.99. Then by June 28 we can download the remaining 5 maps (Terminal, Relic, Elongation, Gemini, Backwash) for $11.99. A grand total of $17.98 for 9 maps (including 2 of which are free).. this is for all xbox live subscribers... sounds fair enough to me. Technically thats about $1.99 a map for xbox live subscribers. FAIR ENOUGH! quit your yappin!.. u shelled out $40-50 for halo 2 and u shelled out money for xbox live if ur a subscriber. whats another $18 gonna do? u get cheat/glitch fixes, 9 new maps, new playlists, and more!

Ha! I pay for xbox live. Now, since I'll have to pay for maps, I'll be moving on to better games. I've been waiting for these new maps and content updates for awhile now. I thought Bungie wasn't going to be mad crazy about money. Its not like they're strapped for cash after their 2 games began selling millions of copies. Its not like I'm going to get to play the new maps right away on live anyways. I'll be waiting until summer when everyone gets them to play. BS bungie.

alright i will first appologize if someone said something to this effect already but...there's 10 pages and i aint readin all of em. now, first thing i will say about these downloads is the maps look cool, containment and turf especially look ill. im happy that at least 2 of the maps will be free, seeing as how i expected to get raw %@#$ on the money issue for all 4 of the new maps.

now, onto my -blam!-, and it is definitly a legitamate -blam!-. i never posted anything on this site before since i was never givin anything to go on, such as a date, or a mother %@#$in clue from you people at bungie, dont worry frankie it aint on you, you just do what they tell you and thats cool cuz they pay your rent, im talkin about the hardcore corporate dip@#$%s who wanted to keep us in the dark in the first place. if like 3 months ago i looked on this site and they said oh late april we'll have maps and other cool stuff, i woulda been fine with it. instead these #$#$ riding #$%@#$% decide to keep us in the dark all this time on some bungie conspiracy or somethin, and then at clutch time when we're all on edge thinkin new maps are coming soon, these dirty mother @#$@ers decide instead that it will be another month, i understand that stuff aint complete yet, and thats fine, but you people made us wait like 4 months just to tell us we gotta wait more, you all lick horribly flavored nuts, except frankie, and frankie if you had the opportunity to tell us what was up, you would have im sure, and if you wouldnt have your a dirty -blam!- as well, but i dont think thats the case.

so in closing, you corporate #$%#heads over at bungie can chill in their turf and contain sanctuary up their warlock asses. in the future you guys should keep it real about whats going on, your not the government who needs to keep secrets to preserve the peace and order of the world....you made a $@#$in video game, hop off your high horses and be smart next time you release #@#$. thats all im sayin

Subject: Maps

"my quest is over I see the flag it's so flappy"

Yea I must agree with people who don't want to wait and want there free maps now. But hey Bungie is not your slave to give you free stuff. They're nice enough to give us two free maps then after a while give us them all for free, I think it is a pretty good deal. I just wish I wouldn't have to wait to buy that disc because i want the maps as soon as possible. I'm thinking about buying the download then the disc once it comes out. I'm also wandering if it is illegal to share the disc with my none live freinds.
