To the dude asking if the maps are put on the original disc: they aren't, they'll be stored on your hard drive, because xboxs don't come (standard) with DVD writers. I have a feeling though that they'll record your gamertag if you download it, so if you accidentally delete it or something it'll come free again.
To all the people -blam!-ing in this forum about the unfairness and the cost of it all - Get a freaking life, alright? Most of you have just looked at the screenshots and not read the update in full. I see you complaining about "No Hang 'em High?" and asking why. Read the update. You ask why it's going to cost. Read the update. You say about time. Are you a game programmer? Do you regularly create great and completely unglitched maps for consumers?
I didn't think so.
Think about it. $20.00US (or $40 NZ) gets split in a lot of ways: the cost of pressing the discs, the bungie employees wages, the marketing campaigns, etc. Try dividing it up, you'll see there isn't actually that much profit. Sure, if 50 million people buy it then Bungie will be living in luxury, but I don't think so.
9 new maps people! How can you be complaining? If you don't have the money, or refuse to pay the money, wait until it comes free, or borrow the game disc off a friend. And I've seen questions about how they're going to incorporate it into playlists.
Read the update.
The update has so more information this week than it has had in the last 2 or 3 months altogether, so I can see how maybe you're overwhelmed by it. But go through it, slowly. You'll understand eventually. Or if you don't, then good luck in life. Good luck.
