It is, and always will be, a matter of opinion as to which OS is superior. It depends almost entirely on who you're asking and the primary purpose that the person uses his computer. For me, I like using macs better than PC's because of their incredible stability and ease-of-use, as well as their superior bundled software (iTunes, iMovie, iPhoto, etc.). Now, many will disagree over which system packs more power or is capable of more, but the usual underlying reason that people choose PC's over Macs is compatability, and secondarily, availability. PC's are simply used by more people out there, and are capable of running a greater quantity (but not always quality) of applications on the market. They also are easier to simply acquire parts for and build manually, so the tech junkies also tend to take a preference in the Windows direction as well. Now, with the introduction of the G5, I'd say Macintosh can beat out anything else on the market in speed and upgradability, but the final hurdle for most people in choosing that option is price. Macintosh has always priced their machines higher than their competition for a number of reasons, not the least of which is due to the fact that Apple does and pays for their own research and development. I could go on, but I don't want to let my own opinions get in the way of others' decisions. I have, and I believe I always will, choose a Mac over a PC, but that's just not everyone's choice. I hope this has clarified a few things for all of you though.
