Bungie Pentathlon - who actually cares ?

Playing the game without having the "itZ SkiLlZ" brigade whining and complaining at every single opportunity.....I swear if I see another Katana/security/R-con/Ar vs Br/I am ranked locked/Generals thread I am going to be sick

At least in this forum it attracts more mature members

I quit that forum shortly after Halo 3 came out. Likely soon after all the skulls were found and armour unlocked.

267. Even a vehicle rundown couldn't kill you when you picked up an Overshield.

Yes, we really did take that for granted didn't we. Now it's headshots, melee, or explosions. And only those three.

248. Everything!!!

Halo: Combat Evolved is as close to perfect that any game is going to get, at least in the multiplayer aspect. Halo 2 and Halo 3 pale in comparison.

Portal? Ever played it?

Well, the health packs gave the game a bit more depth; it added another layer of tactical thinking and strategy. Instead of using up your shields, taking a few hits, then hiding for a couple seconds for them both to recharge, if you got hit without shields, without a health pack, those hits were permanent, and could kill you over time, instead of having to be killed all at once.

Like the Popcorn. They grasped onto you and damaged your health, rather than just, somehow, jump through the High-Tech ultra-dense chestplate of your MJOLNIR.

Call me Reach.

I hated the health system, especially in campaign, because there were never any health packs.

Overall, though, I think changing to the regenerating sheild-only system was a better idea for multiplayer.

You still have health, you just can't see it. It works like the shield system, it recharges when you take damage, just much slower.

287. I loved the fact that backtracking through levels was possible, for example in Assault On The Control Room. If you wanted, you could wander from the last room to the first room again, unlike in Halo 3 where it rather too abruptly cuts off your path. OK, so there wasn't much point to the backtracking, but I just want that sense of freedom again, dammit!
