damn right...
I miss everything, the in depth unpredictable campaign with realistic timing. The loneliness of going back through an area seeing the bodies and burn marks and bullet holes. Then saying to yourself, "how did I manage to get through?" and "Man that was a good Marine, it really pissed me off when he relentlessly went in and killed several covies before finally dieing." Also, the empty halls with whats left of your battles gave you a sense of accomplishment and reality. As if something actually to place and that something was actually happening else where, hence why no one else has come this way...there is no one else. Instead of a locked door behind you and your victories being lost because there is no evidence as if it was pointless to have even fought it.
I hated going through H2 levels and seeing only weapons I always thought WTF? where is everything else there should be more, bodies evidence of a battle but there's just weapons thrown around. In Halo CE when there was no evidence you got scared because that meant the flood was near.
To sum up and say what I haven't said yet...Halo CE had emotion no other Halo really has emotion to, except anger at stupid AI Marines and five year olds using cuss words they don't know the meaning to. In Halo CE you felt like it could happen in real life and that if you were to wake up in the year 2552 you would actually see happen what we now and love as the original Halo, the original mysterious, incredibly lucky and skilled MC in the shinny Mark V armor.
