Relax, I ain't going back to that now.
All I'm try'na say is get back, click-clack, blaow!

They were not intentionally put there.

Why would Bungie put such a maneuver into the game to give "pros" such an unfair advantage?

no, they were accidental, it was, i believe, a series of geometry-player interactions that caused the player to jump, or bounce rather, really high. to fix the problem probably would've required recreating the games engine and code

What game developer would want a glitch in their game in the first place? Think hard for a second at your question OP.

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

It had something to do with the engine they were using, and the geometry on the maps also.

I always assumed that bungie made superjumps a part of the map intentionally, because I cant possibly see how doing that specific of a ritual can be accidental. Someone just told me that they were NOT put there by bungie, and the community seemed to agree. Whats the truth?

It would seem that they're unintentional bugs.

Where two texture edges meet, they form a seam. By bouncing directly on seams, for some reason (maybe the engine doesn't know which map you are on so it freaks), you get a superbounce. You can also do mini-bounces by jumping off your partner onto seams.

Send A Friend Request to Schloxictonkey if you need a good teammate and you are good

They must have known about it but they couldn't fix them so they INCORPORATED them into the game. Superjumping and button glitches weren't cheating, they were a part of the game. They made the game better.

Read the link I provided. Jeremiah's post pretty explicitly states that they were a form of cheating. Even if they did in your opinion make the game better.

Why would Bungie purposely put jumps that can give people unfair advantages?

Doesn't sound like Bungie to me

being part of the game means they were put there, they werent, with every game you get flaws. super bouncing and button glitches AREN'T cheating, yes, because they were never intended to be in the game and were found by luck. however they are unsporting. its not nice when the other team get only one kill on oyu then bounce out the map and hide, and you dont know how. button glitches didnt make the game better at all... they never really changed it. double shooting is only affective on LAN these days, unless you have a 24MB connection. the reason why they cant fix it is because it cant be patched, so youd have to remake the game like halo 3.
