He didn't lose it, he want's to get rid of it, I think he pirated it, and I hope Bungie prosecutes the piss out of him if he did.
He registered on the site, shouldn't be too hard to figure out where he is.
If I am wrong, then no harm, no foul, but that sounds really odd to me...

If I'm right, which I'm 99.9% sure of, then I say to you in the immortal words of Anton P Nym,
AVAST YE SOFTWARE PIRATE!!!

You notice his lack of response? I suspected as much, he's probably deleting the .net passport now.

Sorry, just kinda funny how you, you know, just admitted to pirating Halo.

I doubt Bungie cares anyway -- the small-timers like him are a cost-absorber for Bungie/microsoft... legal fees alone would cost more than 35$. Its the profiteers that get nailed. But that doesn't mean I condone pirating, I bought my copy and anyone who doesn't is a pathetic mold on the face of the planet... I mean, who can't afford 35$ for a game they are obviously enough of a fan to join the company's website and be an active member in the forums.

However if you are doing what you say you are, if you delete it within 24 hours, from what I understand, it will still remain legal (assuming US residency).. that's of course if "Breaking and Entering" isn't applicable to taking out Safedisk.

You know he COULD just download the free, legal, DEMO. Considering that's what demos were for last time I checked.

Yeah -- still -- the 24 hour rule still applies... pisses companies off... but still applies.

  • 07.04.2004 5:23 PM PDT

There's no 24 hour rule - it's just something that emulator freaks made up to make themselves feel better.
And please don't discuss illegal practices here.
