So what of the drinking limit in the US or other countries? They differ in each country but they are still there. ESRB and other rating systems aren't really any different, are they? Can you honestly tell me that the drinking limit is "offensive". Drinking is a form of entertainment is that's your argument (alters your mood/mind...and games dont?).

I guess I'm just curious as to how protections for youth are offensive?

It just keeps younger people from buying the product. The product will eventually end up in the wrong hands, like drugs and games. All I know is that some can't handle the product and bad things happen. This is an internet forum and there's bound to be stupid things that will tick other people off.

Some people just arent dignified these days. They cant help themselves, they have to act like morons. Thats what the world is turning into, and Im glad Im not one of the many that are causing nothing but trouble and crime in this world.

Well luckily we have forum moderators to help filter out some of the spam and garbage our youth today can throw on these forums. But age is not always a matter. I know a 15 year old that acts more mature than an 18 year old I know.

All right, let's look at what you all have accomplished:
-Age is not a measure of maturity.
-We can't keep the morons out.
-Moderators have the responsibility of dealing with the trash (which they do a good job of).
-Complaining doesn't do anything but show we all hate the idiots.
-My pants are too tight, but that's okay.

Come on guys, get off the high horse and get on the game.

There are two more crucial facts people seem to forget.

* You must also realise that, while in the US Halo is rated "M", and this recommends that the consumer should be over 17, other governments have different rating systems. For example, in Australia the Office of Film And Literature Classification rates Halo and Halo 2 "MA", which recommends that players must be over 15 to buy the game. Other countries have different systems again.

* This is a Bungie site. Read that again. Bungie.net is not a Halo site. There are people in the Bungie community, believe it or not, who have not played Halo. They do not fall under Halo's ratings. For example, if a young Marathon fan were to try to join Bungie.net, who is under 17 or whatever, and was excluded from joining simply because a US government agency classified a game, which this individual has not even played, to be out of reach from him/her, would I be the only one who would think this is unfair?

I've got a serious question. Do ya'll moderators want us to PM you everytime someone breaks a forum rule? Which things do you want messages about?

Have you guys totally forgotten about something? The moderators and admin's of forums know they're in for a wild ride, cause' there's no full fledge way to keep crap off their websites. As for age limits, it's just to prolong agony that kids will have to see later. And once they're about 17 years old and witness this all, they'll probably go all -blam!- and start talking crap, looking at dirty pictures, and probably start sleeping with ever girl they find. For kids under 17 and above 12 to witness crapoli like nudity, bad language, and stuff at that young of an age learn to hate that stuff, building a better, wiser, and CLEANER mind than the teenagers that grew up through the 80's and 90's. Have you ever thought about that?

And btw, I'm 14 and have lived the experience of nudity and strong language...and I hate all of it. And this is not flaming the dudes that are above 17 that say and look at that junk, it's just in reference to us younger teens and to point out something that we actually might grow up to be a little cleaner than you older teens.

Your screen name is McGyver. A 14 yr old that remembers MacGyver, I'm impressed. MacGyver was the stuff.

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

A teenager who hates boobies! Now I've seen it all!

*Becomes Serious*

Back to topic...

No you are right MacGyver, there is and never will be a 'clean' website. No matter how many trials, and checks and balances or security measures are in place the 'wrong' people always find a way in. Same can be said about a lot of things, even the best system over time will invariably become corrupt and decadent... (this is no way reference to the forums or anything in particular merely a reference to historical facts and events). So those of us who wish to see a 'clean' forum just have to fade through, (because of the fast reacting mods and community we have, "we only need to walk through"), the crap that are underage or immature persons populating our beloved forums.

Also, MacGyver to add to what was already said, kudos for remembering that show it was indeed awesome; however, I am partial to Richard Dean Anderson's new role as Jack O'Neil in Stargate SG-1.

Yeah, I'm pretty old school. I only watch TV Land and pretty much just listen to 60's music (though I also like 70's and 80's). I love everything from I Love Lucy and The Burns and Allen Show, all the way up to MacGyver and Hunter. I think MacGyver was the best; never used a gun, knew how to use the enviorment to hisself, and was very honest and caring.

But back to topic.........

I just wish people would stop creating threads to see their name on the forum page. It is rather ignorant.

You know I'm only 15 and look I'm already studying the essentials of peramedic care...
If you can answer this then your obviously good enough to consider yourself mature...
Answer this question guys and girls...
"How many types of muscle tissue are within the body?"

But now in a more serious tone, I do also think that there should be an age limit where it would take the parents 15 min. to answer questions just to show them how serious this is...see I have learned from doing child development studies that the majority of younger people (ages 19 and younger) tend to be more inexpereince. Now it is worse than ever. Drugs, violence, and immorality can affect a child in a very negative way. Also, parents nowadays don't spend much time with their kids. I've done a study and research where the average parents only spends about 15 minutes a week with their kids. Just imagine that kids by themselves for 23 hours & 45 min...
This is why the morality of past generations detieriorates as time goes by...

Listen, age limits are gonna have no good outcome whatsoever. ur gonna have people under AND above who will be utterly against it, and then all heck would break loose. Bungie would be flooded with mail cussin out the great people who work there, and some people might even be willing to boycott this fabulous company and this here forum site. If there wuz a vote, i would say nay.

How many types of muscle tissue are within the body?

Depends on how their classified. The way I'm thinking about it is striated and unstriated. Striated are voluntary and untstriated are involuntary.

Flag captured. I'm still looking for the answer to my question about PM's though.

Yes your arguement still stands. Im just saying, this is a no win situation. If it stays the same, bad things. If it changes, bad things. We all need to get together to make a mutually beneficial compromise. And oh yeah, if you would like to know, Im only fourteen.

Do not pm mods... There is the HFCS... The Mod Group... and now a Mod gmail email account. PM's just become frustrating and they should be kept for things like asking persmission to use certain things, eg Toast PMing Sketch about the legality of posting download links to games that have not been declared freesource bu Bungie but are not in circulation anymore. If he had sent this to a mod who had say, 50 PMs about spam, his message might be disregarded... on the same note, If every person PMed a mod about the spam there'd be pages for them to wade through. The other forms of notification are much easier for them to cruise through.

Oh yeah? Well I'm 94 and about as mature as the average frat-boy. I sleep with every woman I can, I love boobs, and I hate old TV shows (MacGyver notwithstanding, that stuff rocked me). So HA! Pwned!

Ah, seriously, you all have just demonstrated that age doesn't mean jack, even if you are a bunch of conceited little punks. Thanks for your input, I'd say this thread is done.

Yeah, until now, I've told eveyone I'm 26, they all belived me. I'm actually 15. Purchase of games and movies should be based on maturity, not age. Belive it or not there are little kids more mature than a lot of adults. Like for example cheaters, they are less mature than any kid I've ever met.
