Ioniz-

Thanks for the tips, they were helpful, especially strafing, but your advice about aiming high with the pistol did not seem to work when I tried it, so I just did a little "gravity experiment." I opened an empty LAN game on BG. I took the pistol behind the fort and put my back to the wall. I aimed it with the scope zoomed at the center of the target/symbol on the fort's parapet. Using single shots at that distance I plugged the center of the target every time– no downward trajectory due to gravity.

I got the shotgun. I stood outside the fort, a bit closer. First I shot up at the target, but because of the spread you get with the shot gun, I could not tell if as many pellets were going into the sky around the target as were going into the wall below it, so I kept a level aim at the wall and emptied the gun. There was a wide spread, but it was centered around the spot I was aiming at on the wall– there was no effect of gravity on the pellets, or they would have been more below than above the spot I was aiming at.

I didn't try the assault rifle.

I have a feeling that only the rocket warthogs and the fuel rod guns and the arc of grenades are acted upon by gravity.

No, you are both wrong. It is not gravity, but the pistol's, and only the pistol's, shots do hit lower than where you aim. You notice it more at longer distances. The longer it is the farther it goes down.

Now I am starting to get really pissed at my ISP. They send me my modem and all, nice new and shiny. I can't set it up because I need the account info, but thats ok, not thier fault. So my dad comes home, and we set it up. Put the CD in the drive, get to step 5/6 and find out we cannont connect to the network. We call the CSR and guess what they say. You can't use the new modem till we flip this switch (simplified version) over here and we will do that on the 25th. ARRRAGAGAGAGRRRGAGGARGRGRAGGARRRG. Now I have to wait till monday.

Chewy-

How long a distance? As I've said, I shot from the wall behind the base to the base and had dead-on centered hits. I don't usually use the pistol for much longer shots.

Too bad about the modem situation.

simonjester, i'm not sure if its gravity or just a glitch in the game. I just experimented on some newbs last night. IT only works on long distance. Thats the only time where gravity (or Glitch) seems to have a major effect. Never use the pistol for long range. Unless you are a dumbass, the bullet will go wide, and miss. The force that drives the pistol bullet will be way too weak to push it that far.

Chewy, gotta feel sry for ya there. However, thats a wierd thing thats holding you back. Maybe the password, is ur dad's name or something? By the way, see u updated ur name.

Well, Chewy, it's kind of like a commercial we have here in the states (specifically WI) on the radio.

"So, what's it cost to get your phone service?"

"$25 dollars a month"

"$25?! I heard all you have to do is flip a switch!"

"Well... Yeah..."

"That must be a pretty expensive switch."

And then the commercial goes on to explain how Vonage kicks @$$ on all the other phone companies, but that's beside the point.

Anyway, when you get that server up, tell me... I'll see what i can do...

No, it never came to theatres but it did get released in DVD. It wasn't the modem company, twas the ISP. They have to configure their settings to allow the new modem to work.

No its not a IP address and we have the password, its the ISP (internet service provider) that has to configure for the new router.

Yes it does take some times for a company to reconfigure. However, my company. roadrunner, did it in just 2 days. Guess, your using a bad company.

Sigh, Ioniz, I don't like vonage, it's just a commercial of their's that was on the radio.

And my parents have a roadrunner connection. It's creepy compatible. I want it. But it doesn't go to dorms...

Ioniz, i play the demo, not the full version. and I only play on my comp with bots. I do ok on godlike bots (jk, i can hardly handle skilled bots). It's not like i'm gonna buy it. If anything, it's gonna be Rise of Nations: Gold Edition (comes w/ expansion preinstalled).

Anyway, the fact is, I'm stickin to halo.

WARNING!!! The demo is like 256 MB, so prepare for a long wait. And a long unzipping. And long loading.

But anyway, yeah, just playin for 3 days screwed up my halo skillz. so take one or the other. Not both.

Oh yeah, and I compiled some funny signs here .

I hope they're made public before anyone clicks on it. If they aren't public yet, wait a day or two. They should be by then.
