Heyyo,
UT2k4 pwns. It's no halo indeed. I like the fast pace you walk, takes more skill to control. It's old skool fps. Fast, good guns, requires lots of skill to start taking down the masses.. and NO GRENADES. :)
Lately I've been playing more UT2k4 than halopc actually. Gotta lan tourney in July, must totally pwn at that again.
Control interface? what's wrong with it? I have np's doing what I want. YOu might wanna change some controls. I did, this's what I do:
-disable dodging (more likely to kill me than enemies, lol)
-bind shift to select best weapon
-bind x to translocator
-bind tab to scoreboard
-bind alt to drob weapon
and that's it I believe. Then you can truly pwn. Just remember to constantly look around, use the translocator to get to places faster, and to setup your favorite weapons. (go to your settings, and under the weapon tab, change around the weapons ti'll you have them setup to suit what weapons you like the most to the least. then after a bit of training and lots of useage of the translocator, you'll have some pretty sweet movement skills. :)
Btw, accuracy on UT2k4 is much more critical due to the speed your guy moves compared to most of the ballistic speeds. Either you start landing more shots, or you die.. simple as that. Especially true in istagib matches, where you get a semi-auto shock rifle, and it takes only 1 shot to kill. Netcode is top-knotch btw, even at pings of 200 I can still crank out those kills.
Last instagib match, obviously I had the best accuracy... lol, my score was 162 I think, the closest one to me was 79. gg no re needed. =D
it was instagib ctf, I was on blue team, and pretty much did it all, flag capping, flag returning, getting megakills.. screaming of godlike... you know? just good old uber-skilled slaughter fests. Lol, one guy there at the lan party was our match announcer and he was all like, "I see yet again MarD's running the blue team all by himself as he's grabbing red flag again... oh, enemy's got the flag... oh wait, MarD killed him, capped the flag and got his own assist points for returning the blue team's flag... I wonder what the rest of blue team's doing, oh right, dying.." ahh yes, good fun was had by me, lol. :P
