My patented post:
Skipping school or work for a game is stupid. End of story. Don't give the industry another black eye just because you don't have the guts to face your life for a couple hours. And don't get me wrong, I'll miss some time on homework for it, but it'll all get done on time.

I know I'm being harsh, but it kills me everytime I see someone saying, "Yeah, I'm gonna get fired because I skipped work today to play (x)." Cases like that pave the way for censorship better than anything else out there.

skipping school for a video game is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Wow! You will get a couple of extra hours to play the game, big freaking whoop. I would never be able to get out of school and i wouldnt want to for a video game, and for the guy that said his whole family is skipping work/school, you have a pretty sad family, no offense.

I agree that it's stupid to skip school or work to play a game. That's why I laughed when my boss asked me why I requested my paid vacation days to be November 9th and 10th...
Funny how that works...

I'm not gonna skip school, my exams will be finished / finishing, so i'll be scot free, with no worries, (wither that, or i will be in exam study period) which means no school anyway, but i will have to get that study done!

It is sooo refreshing to see some intelligent posts without 50 million spelling errors and actual complete sentences here. Some wise words there, I'd reccomend a lot of you listen to them.

True, Look at the Mortal Kombat/Joe Liebermann debaucle. Woman actually testified against the industry for almost 2 days because of a jump in school truancy when Mortal Kombat hit the home systems.

I'm not skipping school, don't you guys get it, that if you do school on the 9th, and if your smart you will get your homework done, meaning that you actually have more time to play. Besides it's more fun to play a game for less hours then more, that way, you'll always come back with more passion because there are still things you haven't found out yet...

Skipping school for a freaking game is retarded. If you do Halo 2 will be banned because moms and dads will be outside of Bungie, ensuring their fate.PLEASE don't skip school.(This part may sound -blam!-)If we all unite together, and keep Halo 2 from not making the news in anyway whatso ever(Except the best game in history award) we can keep the FBI off our backs and we'll be able to say "I'm damn glad I didn't skip school that Tuesday"

BTW, I'm not skipping school.

Skipping school for Halo 2 isn't stupid, in your opinion it may be stupid, but it's not fact. Other people have different opinions, and if they don't go to work/school, I don't think it's going to harm you in any way, so it shouldn't matter to you. And as for the question, yes, I am skipping school. I love playing video games, and Halo 2 will be awesome. I personally will enjoy it, and since you obviously will feel more obliged to go to work/school, then you enjoy yourself there.

"Hello, dad, can I stay home from school tomorrow? There is this really awesome video game that I have been waiting for more than 2 years, and it comes out tomorrow, I need to stay home so I can play it 7 hours earlier than if I didn't stay home from school, which is about .35% of how much time I will spend on it by the end of this year, or something like that. SO, what do you say?" He replies with a pleasingly humorous, yet stern voice,"No."
"Alrighty then, I will go to school."
That is probably what will happen to me on November 8th. If i reserved Halo 2 am i going to get a copy on November 9th if i go to the store at about 4pm, or will i still need to get there when the store opens to be sure i get it. My bro will go get it for me if I have to get there when the store opens.

I live in Aus, and I don't see how skipping school for a day will hurt anyone, unless they have a test on or something. I'm not sure now, but as long as I got nothing important on that day, I'll be picking the game up in the morning (yay for pre-ordering) from an EB games and playing all day long- then pestering all my friends the next day with talk about how cool it is.

I think it would be funny if people all over the place all skipped work and school on Nov 9.

Viva la revolucion!

(actually, it might be Nov 10 for some ppl- here in Aus we're a day ahead of you Americans, so I doubt we would get an American made game, before America does)
