I hate that bottom frame. Why do we have a link down there to Bungie home when there is already one in the top frame? Why can't that frame be a page instead, somewhere else where it wouldn't bother me and some other people.

If you are talking about the slider bar, that comes across the bottom and is sometimes displayed and 343 Guilty Spark, then the reason it is there is it is one of your best navigation tolls for Bungie.net. Usng the slider you can access all areas of the site, some of which are only accesible through that slider bar. If your not using it already you are missing out on much that Bungie.net has to ofeer, I suggest you start doing so......

I come here mainly for the forums. I don't need to see my stats because I don't have Live. I read everything about Bungie games and such. I never buy from the store and stuff. Oh well, maybe it is more usefull for other people.

I love the bar at the bottom. I can quickly access everything on the site from any page anywhere. If I want to go back to the forum I'm in I click on the picture at the top. If I want to change forums I click on the community button. If I want general stats I click on the stats. If I want my stats I click on the top thingy that says my stats. And so on and so on. Its all very functional. I guess this is one of the benifits of having a 19 inch monitor. Nothing takes up too much space. Sometimes I can't make stuff big enough. Kudos to the webmaster this is one of the most easily navigated sites on the web. There is always a tradeoff between screen space and navigation functions though.

I reckon they should shrink it.

It takes up most of the screen, I think it makes the site look messy.

  • 03.28.2005 1:12 AM PDT

The arrow pointing down shrinks it.

Even when it is not shrunk I can see 6/8 of the page on my monitor. I'm confused to how it takes up most of the screen.

It's cool; I just wish it defaulted to the unused space on the right of the screen.

The frame is pretty tiny, it only takes up one-fifty-third of the entire screen. Besides, it's the only form of navigation on the site.

I knew that the button shrinks it even when I was a nonmember. I just don't like that huge circle that leads back to Bungie home. We already have one in the top-left.

  • 03.28.2005 9:02 AM PDT

That huge circle is also filling what is usually otherwise empty space.

Different people use different screen resolutions. For example, for a person using 800x600 resolution, it would probably seem bigger and uglier compared to someone using 1152x864, like me. For me it takes up only a small part at the bottom of the screen.

The higher your resolution, the more stuff that is crammed onto the screen, allowing you to "see" more. The bar is probably tiny for people who are using really high resolutions, like 1600x1200. But for that you'd need a pretty high-end monitor.

Exactly. Meaning its not a nuicance. Personnaly, I like it. it dosen't seem like a detriment to the screen in any way...

What about if the alterations alluded to in the image below were made?

I think it's rather a good idea...

Yes that might work, by altering the little gaps between them... But it blocks the Forum navigation bar in the right corner, and the text markup tags.

It could work out, but as H47 said, it would block the forum navigation bar. If it were to be moved to the right of the navigation bar, then people running 800x600 resolution or lower would have to scroll left/right to be able to see the entire page, and I think Bungie has tried to make this site visible by as many people, on as many resolutions, as possible.

True, I hadn't thought of the non-1024x786 people out there.

I wonder if it's position can be defined by our profiles? I wonder whether it's worth the fuss for just a cosmetic improvement?

That thingy is awsome tool, but on some slower computers...the affects it has are debilatating...it will actually slow them down to a standstill, and lower resolution moniters are irratating 2
