The titles are tacky, cheesy, and far too showy.
In an automated sort of way. Which is where the problem lies.

Your Coup can be tacky, cheesy and far too showy, but it's done so in a personalized way, which makes up for it.

Don't mistake "my Coup" with the master script, there is an important distinction there.
But that being said, I'd actually say that the main difference is that you can turn the master script off.
Well yes, I agree, but you know what I meant, so that's excusable.

Either way, I'll stop pestering you about this, I know how much you hate discussing the topic, even if I am agreeing with you :P

Not by intention. We both so happened to choose the same general emblem in Halo 3. There are only so many to choose from.

The titles are tacky, cheesy, and far too showy. And I am entitled to that opinion so I also don't appreciate attempts to make me feel like dirt for having that opinion.

Did I ever mention, CAVX, that I actually love you?

I call shotgun - I call 9mm.

I like the new title additions. They (for me anyway) seem to give a little insight into who hangs out here.

if you're referring to our sexy trip-mines, then that was a complete coincidence.

As with the thousands of other things between me and CAVX that seem to parallel...but that's a story for another thread.

In the grand scheme, it has as much importance as what hat (if any) someone chooses to wear to a ballgame. It is something for other people to see on top of their head, it can "make a statement" to anyone who thinks that such statements are worthwhile, and other than that, it means very little.

So then, which title is equivalent to one of those big nacho sombreros with the dip in the middle?

I believe the 'titles' are just for our own enjoyment.

Posted by: dazarobbo
I'm still don't get it.

What I mean is, to whom are the titles supposed to mean anything to? Other members? The moderators? The Web-team?

If we (by 'we' I mean, the member base) don't fully understand what each of the prefixes mean in the context of the forums, then they don't really mean anything at all.

I'm not complaining about them; just confused as to their purpose.

: ?
Well.. OK, but I can't possibly see what kind of enjoyment anyone would get out of them.

They're hats. They have no "real purpose" unless the sun is shining or it is raining.

People wear them for reasons other than their functionality. It's all fashion. Auto-calculated and arbitrarily assigned. And some people get a sense of accomplishment or other enjoyment out of it. Others don't.

In the grand scheme, it has as much importance as what hat (if any) someone chooses to wear to a ballgame. It is something for other people to see on top of their head, it can "make a statement" to anyone who thinks that such statements are worthwhile, and other than that, it means very little.
Except, how can someone who wants to "make a statement" do just that if no-one else knows what they mean?

Are they [the prefixes] supposed to be there to designate, for example, someone as having kept their nose clean, because they avoid a/multiple reprimand(s)? Also, on top of that, how can someone distinguish between the prefixes, such as what an Honorable, Noble, or Exalted member's title means, when the actual words have such close semantic-meanings? Obviously there has to be some kind of a difference between each 'level' which we will (probably) never know, but my point remains from my first post here; "to whom are the titles supposed to mean anything to?"

Anything with a blue banner.

They are the nacho sombrero, the foam bewbies, the clapping hands, the dual beer bong, and foam cowboy hats of membership.

I know, I've seen my posts in groups. No double dipping in my guacamole!

Yes!! I'll go get my hat out of the closet right away!

this situation reminds me of being a motorcyclist.

in california it is perfectly legal to split the lanes in traffic. it's an old law written to protect motorcyclists and our motorcycles. this lane sharing law was written back when bikes were air cooled but the law never changed following the technology. the only discrepancy is you're not allowed to do it if traffic is flowing over 35mph (i think that's the limit, not exactly sure, irrelevant). people constantly try to swerve at you (attempted murder much?) and stop you from doing what you need to do as a law-protected motorcyclist. they're so annoyed and some can even be full of hatred towards us, but the part that gets me is, if they just pretended we weren't there they wouldn't know we exist or are even sharing the road with them. i don't get in their way. i don't hurt them.

moral of the story: don't hate. share the road. i'm just an exalted legendary motorcyclist, no big deal, right?

edit: well, 20 minutes ago i was legendary, so now i'm an exhalted heroic motorcy...

edit #2: i'm getting dizzy :P

Best Song ever: You Cant Quit Me Baby by Queens of the Stone Age

Also Guns and Roses are the biggest load of pish-posh ever

Armed with a dictionary:

Intrepid = Fearless
Fabled = Famous/Known member
Exalted = Elevated rank (Highest possible for that title?)
Absent = AFK/Not there/Long time offline

I believe there are differences to what the prefixes mean, all be it small ones

So I'm guessing it goes by when you made you Bungie.net account and when you made your gamertag?

Member is obviously normal, right?

EDIT: It goes by forum activity from what I can see. I am not that active and my account is new so meh.

I wouldn't say gamertag, but yes, when you made your account is one of the factors.
