I've searched for over an hour and have found many people who have the same problem as I do, yet I saw no solution. I'm running Halo Dedicated 1.07, the init file's all set up correctly and everything as far as I know.... but I dont see it on the master server list. Anyone run into this problem and know the solution?

Since I am new member on here I cannot post a topic for help. However since my problem is nearly if not identical I will post here instead.

I have a Dell running Vista and I am trying to use that as a Dedicated Server. I also have another computer which is where I normally play Halo.

Both are either new or fairly new computers with decent specs.

Anyway- I setup the server and changed my init.txt file (I have had rented servers before and know how to set this all up myself already) and downloaded the new updated 1.07 server.

I tried all 3 versions of the server, started with 1.2, then 1.6 and now 1.7

The only time I could see my own server was with version 1.6 and when I tried to join it said a mismatch version (maybe it was client is newer than the server.)

I am using a Linksys WRT54G router and added port forwarding for ports 2300-2400 just to cover all possibilities for Halo.

After all of this is done, how come I still can't see or join my own ded. server from a separate machine on the same network?

Is there some sort of other blockage that I am missing?

Also, how do I find my server ip? Is it just my ip address plus the port number?

Any help appreciated.

I figured out the problem.... here is what you need to do:

update the haloded.exe server to the current version of your Halo.exe file (if you have 1.08 then update the server to 1.08 as well.)

Then just make sure all your search options match you server (such as Empty/Full servers, etc.)

that should work.
