I've been wanting some sort of audio set up for my xbox for quite some time, but everywhere i looked i couldnt fimd anything much cheaper than 150 bucks. Well being the 17 year old gaming bum that i am. I never have that kind of money. Well i was walking through Hastings (they sell games movies books etc.) when i stumbled upon the Altec Lansing XA3021 video game 2.1 digital audio system.[ It isnt true surround sound but hey it was only 60 bucks. So i picked it up. It has two satellite speakers and a subwoofer. So i took it home pluged everything up, popped in halo, and sat back to see what it sounded like. Then when the bungie logo thing comes up with the whole tribal drum thing playing. I about fell of my chair. the sub was pumpin and and those little 4-5 inch speakers were blasting. I reached over and turned it down before i lost my ability to hear. The funniest part was that was just over half volume. then the title screen pops up and you hear the halo choir thing. Man i have never heard it so clear, and as i began to play through halo again with the new sound i heard things i had never heard before. Like the heartbeat when your life is low or the spine tingling roar as a covanant dropship flies over head. Man these things make a world of difference. So for anyone short on change that want a decent sound setup for their gaming needs i strongly recomend these things.
also if anyone else has used this setup before please post your comments as well
