In case you didn't know for this process to be infinite Johnson would have to have infinite telomerase other wise some DNA would be lost. Such as how when you are young you have more telomerase which as you get older wears down and eventually when the cells divide to make more they lose parts of the DNA fragment, causing wrinkles and other such problems, along with the final death. Now if he did have infinite telomerase then he could regenerate forever, but that is doubtful, because the flood don't even have infinite telomerase, other wise they could get shot and come back over and over and over.
Sure Johnson cannot be infect because of Boren's Syndrome, but who is to say that the dead and weakened flood DNA in him still is infectious? If it was like a virus, and it spread then it would be more of a vaccine than a threat, just like how we inject dead and very weak virus cells into people to vaccinate them from the specific type of virus. So basically that person would gain the same ability of Johnson if they did not transform and since they may not since the part that does transform people could be missing then that person would become like Johnson and keep coming back. Of course your idea is not exempt from a possibility just you need to understand that it is an open ended question and not expect everyone to agree with you.
