I have decided to write something a little more.....graphic. Sure it may be a story, but it'll have its moments. Oh yes, this is only part one I think....if I get into more I'll add on.
Time: November 16, 2552 Above Earth
Sergeant Skyler awoke dazed and confused. Every part of his body was in pain, as if someone took a club and had beat him. His vision was blurry and all he saw was what looked like purple and blue waves in front of his eyes. His head throbbed and he felt the back of his head. It stung as his hand made contact and he felt something warm. The sergeant brought his hand in front of his face and he saw it was covered in blood.
He shook his head and was fully awake. His eyes widened as he hit a wall that seemed to have an electric current running through it. There was a slight zap and he jolted back. He looked at the wall and recognized it as a shield. he gave a quick glance at his surroundings and they did not look good. Skyler was in a prison cell and that only meant one thing for humans, death was near. His mind raced. Thoughts of Earth, hundreds of Covenant troops, his men dying, and then suddenly being knocked out by a large hand.
" Hey look Sarge is awake. " someone said from a distance. He looked out of his cell and all he saw was a dark room lit by only small blue lights that ran along the corners. A single Grunt was in there on guard. The dog like alien was fast asleep.
" Who said that? Griffes is that you? " Skyler asked quietly.
" Yeah it's me sarge. Kawalski's here too. He's been knocked out. " Griffes replied. Knocked out? Skyler though.
" What happened to him? Where are we? " he said. There was a sudden scream from down the hall. Skyler, Griffes, and the once sleepy Grunt snapped their attention to the noise. The Grunt shook its head once, shrugged, and fell asleep once more. The screams continued and then they suddenly stopped. Skyler's eyes were wide open and he tried too look in the general direction of the screams but found nothing.
" It's what they do sir. " Griffes said. " They've been torturing us and trying to get information out of our heads. They keep on rambling about some relic of the Forerunner, a luminous key or something. "
These words confused the sergeant. All he knew was that someone was just put through a lot of pain and there was nothing he could do to stop it. Another scream was heard followed by a series of plasma weapons discharge. Griffes hung his head low. Another comrade in arms, dead at the hands of the Covenant.
The main door slid open and a Black Elite entered with four Red armored Grunts. A beam of light from the hall caste five long shadows into the overly sized room. The Grunts carried in a corpse and set it in the center of the room. The man's entrails were dragged behind and left a long streak of blood. Bits of ash and loose flesh fell off the marine's body. Flesh was burned off exposing blackened muscle and carbonized skeleton.
The Grunts dropped the body on the floor and it rolled around a bit and came to rest. Scorch marks and what looked like boiled skin marks were on the marine's chest. Several bruises and lashes were on the arms. The belly was split open in three seperate places and the chest cavity exposed to the open air. Blood dripped from the mouth and every wound on the soldier. It was a horrifying site. The Elite that entered with the Grunts ordered the sleeping Grunt to awake, it did not wake up. The veteran Elite was about to fix that.
The tall warrior went over to the Grunt and kicked it in the stomach. The short alien coughed and got to its feet. The Elite kicked the Grunt again, yelled at it in the Elite's warbling langauge, pointed towards Skyler. The Grunt ran over and scowled at the human. It then deactivated the shield to Skyler's cell. He instinctively backed away from the opening.
The Grunt growled at him to come forward, but the marine refused. The Grunt looked angry and grabbed Skyler's right arm. A sudden left hook slammed into the Grunt's face. The marine struck with immense force for being tired. He wrestled his arm free and his the Grunt's face once more. Luminous blue blood leaked from its eyes. The Grunt held its face in pain, while its fellow soldiers laughed at him for not being able to detain a human.
Skyler then saw a chance to run. It was futile, especially being on a Covenant ship, but he never gave up without a fight. He ran for the door and almost made it. It slid open and he ran through. He took the first right and ran into a pair of yellow shielded Jackals. They sqwaked and readied their plasma rifles. He turned and there was another pair with Needlers. He looked at the four troops and their bulging eyes.
Again they sqwaked at him and he raised his arms. The Veteran Elite exited the brig and strolled down to the sarge. Skyler looked up at the beast and could have sworn it had a grin. The Elite pushed the marine into the next hall and he was escorted for several decks. He didn't need their direction however. He only need to follow the blood trails and the bits of flesh that had fallen off his dead UNSC brothers.
After several more turns and they were there. The doors slid open and they entered. The room was a circle with several lights and a ringed platform around the top of the room for reasons unknown to the marine. He gave another look around to see what else was in here.
Many more Elites, five of them, were in there on guard. Each held a weapon Skyler had never seen before. Some long purple device that looked like it had a scope on the top, but he wasn't sure. As his stare was more focused onthese new Elites he was shoved in the back by the Veteran behind him. He looked back and scowled at the Elite.
Out of no where he was suddenly smacked by the Elite and fell to the center of the room. The lights grew dim and the Veteran Elite activated a plasma sword. The erie glow illuminated the area around it and made sharp shadows around every curve in the room. Skyler's stomach fell, but he did not let the fear show in his face. The Elite spoke in its native tongue. Skyler looked at it perplexed. It spoke again an dstill the same reaction came from the marine. A loud speaker of sorts kicked in.
" Where is the Luminous Key? Where have the Infidels taken it? " a cold alien voice demanded.
" What the -blam!- are you talking about? " Skyler responded. THe Elites took a step forward and leveled their rifles on his head.
" Where is it Heretic? What have the Infidels done with our relic? " it again demanded. Skyler closed his eyes and did the only thing he could do, what he was trained to do in interogations.
" Sgt. Skyler, Randy A60021-SL2. " he responded. The Covenant voice again demanded the same thing, and again Skyler said what he had before. A single shot of red plasma flew towards his feet. The floor burned for a second and cooled down. He looked at the Elite that fired. Again he repeated his name and ID number. The loud speaker stopped demanding answers and went silent. Skyler looked back as he heard the doors opening again and he saw the Jackals leaving. The doors shut and the bladed Elite stepped forward.
Wih one hand he lifted the human up by the collar and threw him to the floor. There was a popping noise from Skyler's right shoulder. He grasped his wound and was kicked in the gut. He curled up and was picked up from behind by another Elite. The Veteran looked at him eye to eye. Skyler spat in its face and swore.
The Elite smacked him breaking his nose and knocking out a few teeth. Blood dripped from his mouth and again he spat at the Elite giving a smirk right afterwards. The Elite formed a fist and began smacking the marine constantly. More blood flew and his head went limp from pain. Old bruishes now became black. He got a ragged breath and turned his eyes towards the Elite.
"-blam!-, you." he said defiantly. The Veteran ordered the one holding Skyler to lift the human up. It obeyed and the Black Armored Elite brought its sword up. Slowly the blade came towards the Marine. The heat from the end of the blade was immense, so immense that his own clothing was beginning to melt off. He screamed in pain as the fibers adheared to his skin.
He began to slip. Beofre he did the Elite holding him upright quickly let go and grasped him by the loose skin on his back. Pain went up and down his spine in less than a heartbeat as eight fingers drove themselves into his flesh.
The sword was getting closer and his skin burned red. He screamed in pain as it dried out quickly next to the flame. His skin then began to boil upwards and he gagged. He couldn't scream, his body went into shock. The plasma blade was brought away from his chest and lowered to his belly. There the Elite made a small, quick cut that was made just fast enough not to kill him.
Entrails began to fall from the wound. Roughly a pint of blood poured out and hit the deck with a slosh. Skyler was then thrown to the floor and he landed with a thud. His body was barely coping with what had just happened to it. Again the Elite brought the swrod to the human's side and made several quick cuts all along the arms, legs, and his sides. The Veteran then took a step back and gestured towards the human. The other five Elite stepped forward and began to beat him with their fists, rifles, and feet.
