Erm, try buying a new halo CD? The earlier versions of X-Box tend to scar your CDs

I know what you're talking about. It's a phase, I think. Happened to me on another game. ;-)

It's still horrible, I'm losing all interest in the game now, I'm being beat by the person I practically showed how to play Halo. It sucks! I suck! I feel destroyed! conquered! forgotten! and helpless! And I'm about to go into a school year where I pretty much won't be able to do any Halo at all.

Hmmm, maybe you should just quit playing Halo for a week or two and when you start playin' again you'll have a clear mind and renewed abilitys. This has happened to me before in other games and all I did was quit playin' it for awhile and when I started to play again a week or so later everything was back to normal. Give it a try, you've got nothing to lose!

Or just bust your ass practicing on Campaign. Go through Legendary. Even if you can't beat easy. Just keep doing it over and over again. First time maybe 3 kills. Second time 5, so on and so forth.
By the time you get past PoA, you will have more confidence, and be able to do much better in Multiplayer. If you can get past Halo, you will build your Sniping abilities, and T&R will train Sniping and Guerilla tactics, and indoor fighting as well. If you can get past T&R on Legendary you should be able to hold your own against many Halo players. If you can do it (T&R) with only Melee attacks, you can hold your own in many tournaments.

Yeah, don't worry about it too much. The reason this is happening is because a lot of the bugs in the game are now being noticed...chances are you're actually better than you used to be and the game can't keep up with your reflexes. It happens. Another thing it could be, is that Halo has been around for almost 3 years now. The game isn't new to you and there really isn't anything to keep your mind fresh. Halo2 will fix all this when it comes out in 5 months.

WOW! Did I just say all that?!

Yeah, I can relate to all that. My best friend, and Halo teammate and I played quite often. We raped on Legendary with Co-op, but when it came to Multiplayer, we would die in the most douchiest ways. And worse, to the NEWBS!!! We actually made the game start skipping one time we were moving and processing things so fast. Melee one guy in the back, change weapons, zoom on sniper scope, strafe left, jump, zoom in, fire, reload, etc. The game took on a strange "strobe light" effect and we had to wait for it to catch up. It was at that point we realized. . .we were spartans!

I love picking off people who are new to Halo from half way across a multiplayer map.

Maybe u should get a new game, play it, and then go back to Halo. Happened to me when I used to be good at RBS 3 then I started to suck. So i started to play Counter Strike and Pandora Tommorow, and now that I've been gone so long it feels like the game has started over for me.

i'm good in SP. and I'm good in MP. but sometimes i hate halo becouse every damn granade is landing direct under my feet. then i'm beginning to affront my friend who throws the granades, the game and finally myself. sometimes i hate me becouse of this bad luck and then i stop playing mp halo.
if you woul se such games with me you would understood. i'm realy not bad...i'm just a magnet for granades.

For me it's not so much grenades, but like in MP in shotguns only, I'll get killed with one hit from farther away than I shot at the same person. And then even worse I'll get more people ganging up on me as if my luck wasn't bad enough. It almost makes me - dare I say it?- hate Halo! well not really but I'm losing interest in it.

By the way congrats on the avatar, it's really cool.

Same thing happened to me on Final Fantasy VIII, I quit playing for like 2 weeks, figured out my strat, and then came baq and scewled the game, i was proud of myself...

Anyway, this "phase" as some call it, has just hit me too... My friend who is a n00b is holding his own against me...a seasoned veteran---i dare say---(3 years)

It just angers me that i have no other choice but to relax and go back in hardcore again.

If you find anything else that helps it would be appreciated...

You should all do like I've done. Once home for the summer from college, I let one of my close friends borrow my Xbox and HALO. Well, since then, I have sold it to him. (Bear with me on this. Don't persecute me just yet.) Well, I just ordered the special edition HALO Xbox combo and it will be here in a couple of weeks. How do I know this has helped my HALO skills, do you ask? I played with some friends the other night (two against one) and I beat them 50 - 1. Now, this wasn't a newb, as some of you might be thinking. One guy beat the game on all difficulties and plays every day. I was quite proud of myself. So, either I have gotten better through my dormant skills, or these guys just suck on MP. What do you think?

I've been playing Halo for more than a year and a half now, not as much as some, but still enough to be really good right? But now I just suck, it feels like I get the absolute worst luck in multiplayer, every-other death I get is absolute BS! It feels like I constantly die from horrible game glitches. I'm sure it would be easy to say "yeah well you just suck now" maybe, but you ever see the ways or how I die you would probably agree with me. The worst part about this, is that I've loved this game since the first time I played it, and I've feel like I've dedicated 10% of my life to it, and now it's like the game is betraying me!

Play Halo online on PC or xboxconnect. I never played the xbox Halo but played PC and PC multiplayer all the time, and it translated to xbox multiplayer.
