Ok peoples heres my next question (Im just pump'n em out aint I?!)
In the Original Halo the human-covenant conflicts were on a pretty small scale, say a squad of 5 marines + you vs. waves of enemys that still only came at you in smaller groups... I recall the largest battle I ever staged in the original halo during a phase of extreme boredom was approx. 12 marines (0 casualities on assualt on the control room) that I led in that last little battle before you leave the marines behind...
Alright-gotta focus!-anyway, I was thinking, do you guys think it'd be neat to have larger scale battles? I know that they have to take into account the hardware capabilites of the Xbox(you cant a full blown war going)-or smaller squad based conflicts such as the original??

i LOVE large scale battles i would absolutley love to see them in halo 2

the largest battle i had was in the second level halo basicly in the second half when you have to save the three lifepods go to the rockslide kill the covenant and snipe the marine with the siper rifle and when the first dropship arrives hop back on the hog and carry on with the rest of the level when you get back to the rockslide...

I don't know, it wouldn't be that fun. If your talking about 50 marines and hundreds of covenant, I think it would be boring. Those kind of battles would only work if you had commands that you could give to marines and such. You wouldn't be able to go in guns blazine, you'd have to stick back with the marines and just fight from trenches or something. I wouldn't like it, I like having a small group, or just me, so that I can come up with strategies and taking out hundreds of covenant anyway.

Well maybe a bonus level. Unlimited ammo, one hit kills, shells flying everywhere, and constant endless waves of covies. *drools*

There is probably going to be large scale battles, Some halo 2 levels are going to up to 5 times the size of aotcr, and that space has to be filled with something. Plus marines can now drive efficiently, this means that halo 2 can now have large vehicle battles.

large scale battles are awsome...i mean, theres nothing as the chaos of countless things happening all around you at once, people screaming, bullets flying everywhere, not a min to breathe or think, just insane action

that is what creates a truly intense experience...

yeah on the back of the halo xbox package it shows a scene from aotcr and it shows a scorpion tank covering the mc in halo 2 that could be real because bungie has promised more missions with tanks (they regretted that there was only one level with a tank on halo)

man... when i first read TFoR, the very start where it has a "flash forward" of that absolutely huge battle, i just want something like that.

Though you'd need Lotus mines and abseiling ropes lol.

Just think how chaotic 16player multiplayer is on halo and then think in a huge battle you'd be shootin a covie then you get shot and killed from another one

Has anyone played Dynastey Wariors? Thoes had some huge battles with the ability to get a hundred KO all sorts of enemies and friends alike. Yep I think it can be done not just with a platoon of marines vrs a company of grunts. Also include a couple of armored columns. With mechinized APC's and transport hogs running back and forth to pick up reinforcements and droping them off in the front lines. Add a squardon of Banshies running strafeing runs on your possistion. And set up a few Artilery batteries and the battle field shelling each side. And you'll get one kick @$$ game. Don't worry for thoes loners who want to go solo and snipe or recon I'm sure their will be some lulls in the action as well as some dead spots behind enemy lines wher you can infiltrait and haras the enemy all you want.

I always wanted a large scale battle that wasn't scripted like Medal of Honor: Allied Assault was (Omaha Beach Level). The largest battle I ever had in Halo CE was in the 2nd Level and on the first lifepod. All I did was make a stand with the Marines in the structure, the Marines died in like two minutes though.

Halo: CE was a guerilla war against the Covenant the Marines were terribly outnumbered and under equipped, which is why the Marines tried to avoid large scale battles. They would've been ripped apart if they'd gone head to head!
However Halo2 is a full scale invasion, so large scale battles are going to be unavoidable! I mean just from watching the e3 demo back in '03 I felt as though the battles were bigger and it felt like more was going on (walking through the building and hearing gunfire and Marines shouting "3 more coming left!" and "I'm running low!")

The largest battle i had on halo was when i accednitly shot keys in the face on the pillar of autum. Cortana called in about 50 marines(imortal) and i had no choice but to hide in a corner.
PS they lock you inby the way. You try it if you havnt already!!!???!?!?!?
