I posted this this in the last thread, but i couldnt get to anyones comments because of our cyber sitter, so if you had something to say to it say it here.

I was wondering if the Battle rifle will be doing the same 3 shot kill as the pistol, personaly i would not like to see players being canned in a millesecond becuase of the BR's 3 round burst. Do you think bungie will balance the shot's to kill ratio?

P.S. Pistol is not going to be in H2, its kinda readable by now.

The burst wont. Its like.. the Assault Rifle.. it shoots all over the place and is somewhat less effective.

But if your zooming it will probably be more precise and the slower shots bring more power.

Of course I don't work for Bungie so I wouldn't know exactly.. but im really sure thats how its gonna work.

i really doubt the gun will do more or less damage based on if you're zoomed in or not. But like the other guy said, you can't be zoomed and three shot burst. And since the three shot burst litterally sprays the bullets the accuracy would obviously drop at a distance. So If it is a three head shot kill, then it won't be happening unless your target is fairly close. However when zoomed the battle rifle's single shots shoot much faster than the pistols so people will be dropping like flies in multiplayer. I think based on the speed of the single shot alone, the ratio will not remain the same. I think kills will become extremely easy if it only took 3 head shots with the battle rifle. I mean think of a pistol, then triple it's clip size, and increase it's rate of fire. That would really be pretty sick wouldn't it?

How does anyone, but bungie, know if the pistol will be in Halo2 or not. Didn't they say they were bringing every gun back?!?

The battle rifle uses a different type of ammo, and probably doesn't have the one shot one kill to the head that the pistol has. Then again, if the target doesn't have a shield, maybe it would kill with one shot to the head.

We will all find out who is right and who is wrong on november 9th.

Bungie'd have to do something with the pistol to make it a balanced weapon. Think about it, a pistol is a one handed-weapon, so dualed it'd only take like two shots to kill someone full sheilds! The Battle Rifle I think will do about the same damage as an assault rifle would.

THe M6D has not been replaced. At least nothing has been said about weapons being replaced. And the only answer Bungie had to the question of the M6D returning was "No comment. " and it was said with an evil grin.

Also the Battle Rifle would be stronger than the MA5B. It has a smaller cli, but larger caliber. From what I saw it takes about 2-3 successful bursts to kill someone, so it is about twice as strong as the MA5B and one-third as strong as the M6D. Nice balance right there.

Are you basing the caliber on the demo shown at E3 2003?

I'm basing the caliber by the one written on the gun. I am also basing it by the firepower that I witnessed from the E3 demos of this year. The battle rifle killed someone with just three bursts.

My bad. Just looked at the Battle Rifle and it is not on there.....seem to remember being there once though. Hmm, Bungie must be moving stuff without us knowing or I'm beginning to see things.

Oh well, but from what I can tell based on firepower from this year's E3 demo, it would be about a 9.75mm bullet which explains why it does so much damage.

It does seem to do a lot of damage, but it may have been on a higher/lower difficulty... But I think my new favorite gun is going to be the Carbine anyways, especially if it's an alien version of a sniper ^_^

From what I've heard its the Covie equivalent of the Battle Rifle, and if there is a Covie sniper rifle how will it be different?? The only thing I can think of is make it more powerful but not give it an anti-material round, so it hits one guy and stops!

Damn, I hate it when the rumors I liked are wrong :( I always figured it would be like a super accurate version of the plasma rifle sort of thing except with stronger bullets... it'd be the ultimate tank-killer ^_^
