I heard a while ago about there being a destructible environment in halo 2. It might of been covered in other posts but I dont have the patients to read through them all. I know that you can detroy the warthog and ghost and the banshee...but has been anounced officially that the actual environment can be blown up? If it can...to what extent?

P.S. Michael Jackson would do well if he secretly escaped in his oxygen tank and lived at the bottom of the sea....with macaulay culkin.

I remember reading in an E3 write up that the pillars in the base in some games reamained intact and in others were reduced to a sliver, so hopefully it means you can blow walls to bits if they get shot enough... make yourself a little snipeyhole!

As for the MJ comment... WTF?

It's not red fction destructable (blow holes in the wall and hide in them). It's more cosmetic damage e.g. shoot bits of pillars or knock over the odd bit of scenery. Of course I may be wrong because I have not actually played it.

I heard something about being able to blow out structual points in buildings to let them collapse on enemy waves, or shoot a hole in the floor to jump in and shoot out of.

God i loved RF!

I heard Michael Jackson is funding development for a shuttle for him and Mcauley culkin.
They are planning a trip to the bottom of the pacific where they are going to try and start a family.
I heard that Halo 2 will have a destructible environment aswell.

i also heard that they improved the Marine's/ODST's AI to blow holes in the ground obviously the environment has to be destructable for that to happen

That is indeed an interesting point kbone... however...i heard that the main character from Predator 2 is going on safari. His acting skills are amazing and i would love to see his family

Ive actually met his family twice gambini....once before the shooting of predator 2 began then once 'too say goodbye' after i had seen the film.
They were very nice but kinda IN YOUR FACE'!! a bit like our friend in the sequel himself.
He apparently went on safari and had a wonderful time with the BLACK people...he sends his love to you, your family and the dead body in your basement?
Apparenlty Mchiefs arms and legs can actally be blown off? is this true?

There are two groups of people in the world - those that hope, and those that wish. The first group hopes that nothing bad will happen. The second group wishes that they are there when it does. Which one are you?

When Stabby Eric's thread about him playing at E3 was still hot, he was asked about the GeoMod type effects and said that it was mostly surface damage...not anything like Red Faction. However I also remember the text about reducing pillars to slivers and an immediate image of the scene in The Matrix when Neo and Trinity are fighting in the first room of that tower and the bullets are tearing apart the pillars came to mind. If the effect is something like that, then I will be very very impressed.

i hope everyones can be. that would make the game so much more fun once you've beaten it numerous times on legendary. go through and shoot of elite's arms and just let them run around like that. or shoot a sword weilder's legs out and he is stuck there with his sword.lol

as for destructible environments i heard that trees, support pillars, rocks, and some other forms of cover can be blown apart, and that walls of building will get dents that gradually get bigger in them.

i would have to go with the cosmetic damage rather then Red Faction 2 style damage. have you tried that on multiplayer? it gets a little tiresome(bridges blown out from under, no hiding places....)

Agreed, true geomodding would change the nature of the game, the cosmetic style (a la my scene from the matrix) would be uber-badass and real pretty to see when you are balls deep in combat.

in this picture you can see that the window supports can get shot out, thus making the window useless as a sniper point.

It looks like the window on the left has already been shot out, how is it opening?

Actually thats supposed to make it a better sniper point because you can pop out unexpectedly, or just push it open a little so you're harder to hit, i don't really know how well it works though...

EDIT: To above poster, once the supports are out you can push the shutters open by walking into them, which means you can pop out, fire, then retreat when your sheild is low, which sounds like a good defence stratagy.

It seems like there would be some clipping through the window involved in pushing.

ya, but that means when your against the wall, your just against a bunch of bricks ready to explode. this means the learning curve goes insanely difficult...

From what i know about Halo 2, i dont think you can shoot the limbs off people, but they did it to the flood, so they might do it to all races now. Who knows???
