Halo 1 Online
While browsing the forums I decided to go see the Halo : CE forum. On the side there was a locked forum, it seems as though it lasted forever. The title was How to...play Halo online. After hours of trying to figure out what to do I finally got help from someone, set it up and played two games of Team Slayer 2 v 2 on Damnation. It was great, but the thing was there isn't nearly enough people playing!
How to Start
Firstly I would like you to read through his thread to get a general understanding of how you do this.
Now that you've read this, go to http://xbconnect.com/, then go to Downloads. Scroll down until you see two downloads, click on the one fits you best. During installation they will ask if you would like to download another program, do this, you will need it later.
After it is downloaded and all ready to go, start it up, you will need to make an account. There are a few questions that you'll need to answer like every account on the internet is. After you have done. this sign in, and go to check if your connection to the internet is correct. You can do so by going here.
Turn on Some Options
You should now have a window called neXBC up; in this go to the top and click Tools. Go to Options
General Options
And finally check WinPCap library. (This is what they asked you if you wanted to install it).
RESTART neXBC BY CLOSING AND STARTING IT AGAIN
Now go back to Tools
Find
My Console
Check the answer to what they ask, if you get 100% after loading and it says ok, it's time to move on to the last part.
Brush the Dust Off that Old Game
Pop in Halo : CE or load it from your games library.
Choose your account
Go to multiplayer
Go to System Link
Sign in everyone you want to play with
Search for a game
Once you are searching go back to neXBC and click on a Halo : CE server and join. On your screen it should show there's a LAN game found, join it and have fun!
Credit goes to goweb! Thanks for your awesome thread!
Problems
Make sure XBC is not being blocked by your firewall!
Watch what the region of the game you are joining is, games can be very laggy!
Have fun on this Bungie Classic!
(I have permission to post this.)
