Subject: Bungie needs to reconsider forum design...

Even to this day, I still suggest a form of quiz before joining bungie.net. This website demonstrates what I'm talking about (click "Register").

At first, I was skeptical. Would a quiz discourage new (and potentially, valuable) members from joining the forums? After reading that quiz, however, I agree that it would be an extremely helpful addition. Anyone reading that would quickly understand and remember it.

In addition, I think that a more difficult quiz should be necessary to gain entry to the Underground and The Septagon. Basic questions about Bungie would make the lazy turn away and the interested look info up.

In the end, however, I salute the great Overlord for the website I see before me. It has served me well during my stay, not to mention delayed the completion of my homework many a time.

Think of it this way: at least with things the way they are we have plenty of cannon fodder for the revolution.

By "revolution," you of course mean that thing which doesn't exist.

No one worry. Nothing is being planned.

Let's just make sure no encyclopædia from the future happen to be cast back in time to the hands of our enemies - I mean, friendly competitors... Yes...

Edit: Absolutely nobody's gonna get that referrence...

Edit 2: Fixed my shameful misplacing of "æ"... Reig earns a cookie.

I think you underestimate your peers, even when you do misspell "encyclopædia".

There's also the risk that somebody's going to read the Guide's prediction and realise that it contains our secret plans.

Not to mention they could find the recipe for the most powerful alcoholic beverage known in existence.

Well, I think the important thing you missed was that it's a large gold brick. But apart from that, spot on! Your brain cells seem more or less intact - this means you need to add more Santraginean sea-water and a touch more benzene.

On another note, I'm giggly while waiting for the movie. The actors they chose for Zaphod and Arthur look perfect.

Though many people will display the typical "book iz t3h betterz then t3h mov13 t3h movie wrong!" reaction I will have faith that the movie will remain entertaining, regardless. Afterall, the screenplay was written by Douglas Adams (or most of it, anyway. He was in the process of writing it when he died).

Considering it was a radio show first...

At least Marvin will look slightly better than in the TV show.

Hmmmmm...That wouldn't be the same Guide that contains the meaning of life would it?

Edit: I remembered what I was going to say now. Why not just post Gnop! on the website as a little something to do on the side. Or make it compatitive and make it 1 on 1 and post most recent game, scores, blah, blah.. I am probably the only interested in this.

One of the prizes of my home's library is the collected "trilogy in five parts", and an incredibly entertaining biography of Douglas Adams written by Neil Gaiman [Sandman fame].

It's boggling to think just how close the phenomena [for there is no better word to describe it] came to never getting off the ground. The similiarities between the Guide and Doctor Who [which Adams also wrote for] are in that respect quite noticable.

It's perhaps fitting that the new series of Doctor Who is aired so close to the release of the Guide movie.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm afraid my Bistromathic Drive requires a side order of deep fried garlic mushrooms...

Most people I've been exposed to are familiar with it in book form - that is, Yankies.
