It's been confirmed a hundred times over that dual wielding will be present in Halo 2. Needlers, plasma pistols, SMGs, the works.

Anyone curious about the interface? anyone thinking about HOW we will wield two weapons at once, how we will use them?

I personally think Y will be designated as the wielding button - to pick up a weapon straight off the ground and D-W, we would hold Y instead of X. If we want to use our secondary weapon to DW, we'd simply hold Y with no weapons around us. Both triggers would control each weapon, and grenades would be left out until we holstered or dropped a weapon. to oput away one weapon while DWing, we'd simply hold Y again.

Logic.

Unless they used a control system similar to that of True Crime: Streets of LA, where the d-pad changes which mode you are in, cos in it you hit up to draw your guns, left to enter fightin mode and right to enter normal mode.

I don't know about the controls to begin dual weilding, but I believe that it has been confirmed that both of the triggers would be used to shoot each gun respectively.

Exactly.

Twelve Large ²

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.

I don't see why the controls couldn't be the same as Halo.

Dual Wielding
Right Thumbstick. Either a "Click & Hold" or "Double Click" method to draw/holster our secondary weapon.

This way we don't have to remove our thumbs from the controls, or our fingers from the triggers during battle.

Right thumb-click is to engage scoped weapons, right? i still think the Y button would be pivotal in DW controls. Holding the thumb-click would be a hassle...i have difficulty just crouching. Also, pushing in the thumb-stick might make you look or move in the wrong direction. besides, using Y is almost the same as switching weapons or picking up one - most are used to it by now.

Well, I wanted to put this in my sig, but....

When in doubt, custom everything.

See? Now we can all map a control function to any button we want. Wahoo!

I thought I read somewhere that you wouldn't be able to use grenades when dual-wielding and your grenade button would become the trigger for your second gun. Using the default controls that would make the L button your secondary fire. Unfortunately I use the Boxer preset but I guess I'd have to go back to default settings if that's the case.

I think right analog click to activate duels, it maybe scope, but obviously you cant scope 2 weapons at the same time, thus meaning the pistol cannot be in halo 2
