I'm thinking of buying Halo for my PC. I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas as to what I will need PC-wise to make it run and make it enjoyable. I don't have a controller/game pad for my PC so if anyone has any ideas they are most welcome.
Thanks for your help.

What are you specs how? If you want high quality graphics then you will need a high end graphics card (ATi 9800's, ATi X700 and up, Nvidia 5700 and up). You will want atleast 512 mb of ram if you want to make servers online and atleast a 1ghz cpu. If you don't want or need high quality graphics or you can't afford the high end cards then an nvidia 5500 works great. That is what I have. You can look at the Buyers Guide to Video Cards at the top of the forums for more details on Video cards. If you want to play online you will want a fast internet connection but you don't need to upgrade. If you do get Halo PC make sure you get Halo Custom Edition (CE). It has better multiplayer features. Halo CE is free.

atl east a pentium 4, would be nice, at least 256 MB of RAM, ummmm, ya a good graphics card is defenitely the most important, k keyboard & mouse, make sure u have updated drivers, that's really it, just tell us wat kind of graphics card u have? If it's an INTEGRATED CARD *uh-oh* then ull have to buy a new one to play Halo PC, or pretty much any other game.

cool. I think I have what I need then. I have an ATI 9600 something-or-other, P4 3.2 and 512 RAM. As for the game pad/controller, I've seen some fairly nice looking ones at BestBuy. They look sort of like the controllers for the XBox. As for online play, is that set up through the game itself or is that something else I need to subscribe to, like XBL?

nope online multiplayer is free, on the Halo PC disk is Gamespy software that'll install automaticlly, also wat are u doing thinking about buing a GAMEPAD!!! FPS (First-person-shooters) should only be played with a mouse and keyboard, ull be annialated online if u decide to use that thing.

also ur specs. are fine, and if ure talking about getting an Xbox controller to play Halo PC than i undestand, i was thinking of a board with a bunch of buttons and a joystick.
