After many hundreds of hours of MP action on Halo, me and my fellow gaming addicts have noticed a...problem, with the way the scorpion tanks react to say, one hit from a rocket launcher. This usually results in the drivers instant death. To me, this does not make any sense. one hit from a rocket should NOT be able to kill you. Damage you, yes, 2 or 3 hits kill you, yes, but one hit? No, it does not make much sense. the tank is slow, and cannot manouver very well, and so I think there should be some kind of chnge to the amount of damage you take while in the tank. And I mean come on, YOU'RE IN A FREAKIN' TANK!!! One would expect more protection! Does any one else agree? Gimme some feedback

Exactly. One rocket should be enough to take out some guy who's spawn-killed or blown your corpse to the next map a hundred times over.

Get out of the Tank and get some REAL action.

If you ask me, tanks have become less advanced in halo then they are now. Sure they can be driven by one guy, but tanks now a days can easily sruvive a shot from a rocket launcher and there is way more weaponry and armor on them. When you are in the scorpion you can even be one shoted by a sniper because of the conveniantly placed openings near your head and chest.

Aren't rocket launchers so powerful because they were really designed to kill tanks? They're a man-portable tank turret...

Dude, youre face is still exposed when your in the tank so a rocket is still going to kill you, the way youre talkin you shouldnt be able to snipe someone out of the tank either. There has to be some sort of balance, if it took two or three rockets to kill someone in the tank chances are youd never kill them because after the first rocket the person in the tank would kill you, if that was the case id camp on your ass all day. If you want a real challange play where the is only one jeep per team for ctf, and no vehicles whatsoever for slayer, thats how the pros do it. Dont be a noob

I agree, isn't this supposed to take place 500 years in the future? And you're telling me that the rockets in Halo, which seem to act exactly like the RPG's of today, can kill you in a tank? I understand it is a game, but come on. One shot?? It doesn;t make sense to me

LOL noob? I like how people make fun on posts assuming others are "noobs" or "idiots" or "Pros". And you're a pro? If you were such a pro a tank wouldn't kill you right away, and I tend to play with teams, so if I do get killed, my teammate backs me up and finishes the job

It may not make sense in terms of real life, but in terms of balancing the power of a tank out, it makes perfect sense. Theres a reason you can be 1 shot sniped and killed by a rocket no matter where it hits the tank... because the tank has UNLIMITED rounds for the equivilent of a rocket... It's meant for you to be vulnerable in a tank... and if you dont like it, what I do is get a snipe, sit right next to the tank, use scope to see anybody coming then get in tank, kill them, get out (little ctf defense strat here for yall). This way you cant be killed by rockets, most times they dont even touch you, and you still have the tank for blowing -blam!- up.

Agreed, however, balanced play between the person in the tank and the person on foot needs to be achieved. Perhaps, a rocket and several gun shots would be more fair.

Very nice, keep the legit opinions coming.
ya maybe a rocket and a few rounds, I agree. It just seemed to me like something wasn;t adding up, ya know?

They need to keep everything balanced. Just like how the rocket launcher takes forever to reload. The tank has to have advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages: Unlimited rockets and machine gun fire
Disadvantages: Body exposed, and very slow

Lol i have HALO on XBOX and 1 rocket only takes your shields and health down a bit when in a tank

it takes 2 rockets for me

OR it depends on your gametype's sheilds setting

just increase shields...SIMPLE

it's called balanced gameplay num nuts! Which is also why plasma is turned down too. In the books it's a one shot kill thing with plasma weapon.

there is also the little firing gap with the scorpion. works well with plasma grenades if you can manage to keep yourself in that gap long enough.

Sometimes when i play MP then i find the tank over powered. Because when i snipe at the tank then he knws right away where i am.
But then why not use a basuca? Because the tank is guarding it! But there is one really easy way 2 take out a tank, withch is throwing grenades like a mad man.
But i mean isn't the tank over powered?

Geek

Think about it though, would you use a tank if its cannon didnt kill you one hit? And why dont you try using a ghost to kill it, thats what i do to my friends... then again only one of them actually is good

Bungie designed it the way they did for....BALANCE....notice in the campaign the tank doesn't have any opening you are totally covered....check it out and you will see. As someone else said before, three rockets to kill a tank would make tanks almost invincible. Ur not completly enclosed in the tank either because that would be unfair...then only a rocket or grenades could kill you...so again it is to balance the game. You same people would complain about the unfairness of the tank if bungie changed it.

I just wish getting shot with the assault rifle in the rear left tread (EDIT: or any non-cockpit part of the tank) didnt hurt me. It completely negates the tanks effectiveness in multiplayer.
