With the release of Halo 2 coming closer every day, we will soon be able to see how it will use the power of the Xbox and Xbox Live. But a few Xbox Live games out there today will make you pay for downloadable content such as maps, gametypes etc. Do you think this is right? For all of the money I have payed for my Xbox, games and Xbox Live I don't think that we should have to pay for certain things with games we have already paid for in full. In short, I'm just saying we should not have to pay for downloadable content for Halo 2 and other games.
If you agree or disagree you can post your comments here.

Many things aren't charged to you, including new maps and weapons. Most of those are free. If they charge me a little extra for something that wasn't included in the original game, so be it. As long as I have a choice in what content I pay for, I'm fine with that. They're not cheating anyone, you have a choice as to what you buy when you buy the original game and when you get the option to buy extra content.

I think that if they include downloadable content, it'll probably be a revamped map from Halo, Blood Gulch anyone? But that's not to say that they won't include it in the game already.

Yeah, even though it's usually five dollars for the stuff, such as those maps for Pandora Tomorrow, I really think it's stupid. We've already payed for the entire game, etc.

I have to agree u I think that money crap is alot of BS I don't want to pay for stuff they just want more money thoses Greedy little bastards I don't like that crap. But if i have to pay it better be worth it not like the crappy Splinter Cell maps they suck!! Its bad enough we have to pay $50 every year so i think we should get free content!! But i really don't want to pay i'm not rich and i don't work i'm just a kid i get money from my parents but dam they should make it like $2 or $1. But i hate the crap and if i have to i will go on a boycott!!

Good they better not... I mean they will make enough money on the game itself they don't need to charge us for content! And where did you hear that JimBobJoe?

It makes me laugh when people complain about ''greedy'' companies, since first of all the games, the extras they sell, and merchandise are their profits, and do you know how much it costs to develop a top-notch game like Halo 2? Second, you're being greedy yourself by trying to conserve money. Besides, just imagine you are working, and your boss decides that you have to work overtime. But he tells you you have to do it for FREE! They have to do work to make any content. So Bungie, if you have to charge for extra content, so be it.

Yes that is true, but for certain people who don't have jobs or recieve their money through another source such as their parents they lost out on the fun because in most cases they will not be able to pay for the downloadable content that is not free. It is fine when certain companies release a bunch of free content first and then begin to charge, but when certain companies begin to make you pay from the start it doesn't make sense. For example, I have Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommorow and the new map(s) that just came out cost money. I don't have a credit card so I can't pay for the content and now I am missing out on all of the new maps. I just saying, it cost me more than $200 just to set up my Xbox Live properly, and then I find out I have to pay for content doesn't sit well with me.

Maybe they should make more simple downloads free and the more sophiticated ones a charge. The money made would be a stimulation to continue the Halo tradition, especially if there isnt going to be an Halo 2 sequel.

I don't understand the gripes with paying for the extra content. You did read that word right? Lets do it again: EXTRA. When you payed 50$ you got your complete game fully functional. These are not patches that you're paying for, Bungie or what ever developer is making more maps/weapons/gameplay related ADDITIONAL content. They are not making you pay for a patch to remove bugs from the game. Why should they have to spend all this time working on new conent and not get any money for it? Its 5 friggen dollars! You would pay for for an expansion pack wouldn't you? Yes, because your paying for additional content, additional to the already complete game you purchased. Well the only difference is that you are downloading this instead up buying a CD and you usually get less maps/content in premium content, but that is why you're only paying 5$ instead of 20! I digress...

EDIT: Oh and your yearly subscripion fee is NOT for DC. Developers don't see a cent of that subscripion fee. That fee is for maintaing Live servers and making sure they *always* work.
