"h e r o" is my attempt at branching-out artistically, while simultaneously taking Halo art into uncharted waters though avant-garde design. As I'm sure the observant ones in the bunch have already noticed, this isn't my usual artistic style. At first I wasn't sure where I was going with this wallpaper. Polaroids? Yup. Does it completely make sense? Not really. Is it corney? You bet. But, I had more fun then anyone should be allowed to, and learned a couple new techniques I can apply to future creations. This image was made completely from scratch... no photos used. Took about 2 hours to create.

h e r o .

Yes... I was aiming for a completely different style. I may do more like this one, or try yet another unique style. I haven't decided yet.

Art is all about trying new things. ;)

:D

Funny you should mention that... the deviation (no pun intended) from my normal artistic style was for that very purpose: to fight the "perfectionistic monster". Take that!

So you created the Polaroid borders?

The Polaroids started life as nothing more then a 2D black square inside a white rectangle. Perspective, texture, lighting, shadowing, smudges, dirt speckles, etc. were added to give them a more photorealistic look. I could have done more to them, I suppose, but I was really happy with the finished product. I felt that adding too much detail would have detracted from the image.

There is a download link at the very top of "Artist's Notes". This will take you to the MediaFire download window. Once you have downloaded the image, open it to view, then right-click and select "Set as Desktop Background".

Now, if your monitor isn't of the widescreen variety, the image will appear "squished". If this is the case, shoot me a PM with your monitor resolution and I'll whip you up a custom sized one.

Who loves you? ;)
