On assualt on the control room, it was the first time i played it on Legendary. I came out onto the first bridge in the level, whacked a few grunts, shot down a banshee with my pistol, but it wasnt long before the elite showed up, forcing me to take cover behind the wall by the door. By the this time my health was in the yellow, the second banshee was circling around, and i heard grunts scuttling towards me. My sheilds recharged and i just went all out, greased the grunts, and charged the elite with the assault rifle on auto. Course, that didnt do much more than piss him off, but i managed to sidestep his melee attack, punch him in the head, and put a plasma grenade on his noggin. I breathed a sigh of releif as he stood there growling and waving his hands.. Until i heard the whine of the banshees engines. I turned around and my screen was filled with the purple face of a banshee about to grind me into the bridge. That was intense.

I was in my room at home and loving halo til I met floods on 343 GS and I had just seen the cut scene. It was like 8:00 and dark I don't know if anyone was home but I was fighting floods and scared as hell especially when your elevator breaks and the desperate music plays then you have to go DOWN deeper into that level...I started seriously hating halo after that lol and never wanted to play it again til 2 good things happened-I found a shotgun(best wpn/flood killer) and my friend came over to my house to help me fight on the library-I couldn't imagine fighting all those floods by myself especially since I was still a beginner.

its a tie between 343 and the library for me. 343 i was only scared because i was trapped for like an hour not knowing what to do and how to get out of the structure. in the library it was scarry just because the whole level is dark and quiet. not much goes on but when it does its like giant waves of flood hit u all at once. if you survive a flood attack you better pray to god there is a med pack before the next wave.

That's right. My plumage is brighter than yours.

my scariest moment was when i was playing The Maw and i only had six rounds or so in my AR clip. Well, i turned a corner, and didnt expect to see any enemies there. i was wrong. there was a grunt. he scared me so bad, my aim went off so when i shot at him, i shot around him. he killed me soon after.

Well after i saw the cut scene where they where getting eaten alive that was pretty scary!
But when i saw the exploding Flood i laughed my ass off, i threw a plasma gernade on it and it exploded it in the air and then it landed on it's back and then it exploded.
I thought it was pretty funny until one crept behind my back and BOOM!
It killed me! It pissed me off because i was far!

:D

There were two ultimate times Halo scared me. The first one was obviously the first time I played through 343 GS. The second time, my friend and I actually brought it upon ourselves. We had decided to have the first Gold Elite on the first bridge of AotCR chase us around into the rest of the level... In legendary. I was squealing like a little girl, for roughly 10 minutes, and when i died, we alternated and it was my friend's turn. My god. We were getting so many adrenaline rushes, running around, even jumping from the sofa as we were jumping in the game. Hearing a Gold Bladed Elite slicing an inch in back of your head, knowing that you could die at any second is by far the scariest thing ever.

Well there was one time, I dont know if any of you know about the easter egg in T&R where you go into the corner and you hear creepy noises, but anyway, I had killed everyone and was looking for ammo when I walked into the corner and I heard the one that sounded like a whale and I just froze....I was for certain some killer Covenant was going to drop from somewhere and rip my head off.

Abso--blam!-ing-lutely yes.

343GS is obviously pretty damn freaky, even now, when I've played it a thousand times or so, but I think there are less built-up bits that have caused a pretty good reaction in me.

There's a moment on PoA, actually, where I opened a door (before I got to the bridge and got the pistol) and an Elite was RIGHT in front of me, facing me, doing it's scary roar - then, I almost jumped out of my seat in terror - but the worst. . .

The worst was on the Maw. Legendary. The Armory. I saw the hint of active camo and immediately the adrenaline surged through my veins - to be replaced with the trickling ice water of utter horror when I realized that these were invisible Flood! That scared the -blam!-ing -blam!- out of me, not just a 'gaah, I'm suprised!' moment but a long slow chill down my spine at the very idea that the Flood had camo. Vrrr, it's a freaky-ass moment!

☆Bliss☆
Now in three flavors.
Eh?

Well i was playing the Maw on Legendary and it didnt really scare me but it freaked me out, i was in the armory and i was like sweet rocketlaunchers and was walkin all over the place then suddenly boom, right in the back an invisible flood form nailed me and i went crazy shooting the walls everywhere untill i saw all the bodies. Then i just laughed at it and went on to the engine room.

I was also freaked out for a sencond when you hack into one of the rooms and the then dead Pvt. Jenkins falls into your arms and you watch his death by the Infection form of The Flood through the video chip in his helemet.

By the way it was Mendosa that fell into your arms because if you watch the cutscene carefully Mendosa says:"iyeee this is loco" and runs for the door, but obviously dies.

Anyway, back on topic, i agree with what many people are saying. 343 GS Scared the -blam!- outa me the first time i played it. I was sitting in my favourite gaming chair late at night curtains closed raining out side, no lights on inside. I watched the cutscene just before you meet the flood and after seeing all the marines get eaten by the infection forms i was like: oh -blam!-, oh -blam!-!!! then all the bloody flood start coming and i was scared to -blam!-. i just wanted to get the hell outa there. And because it was the first time i had played it i had(stupidly) swapped out my pistol for a plasma pistol and my assult rifle for a plasma fifle. i didn't even know about shot guns then! What a Noob i was........... but now ia am a master!

The single-player campaign didn't scare me much (except a few times some flood jumped down on me and gave me a solid smack on the head) but I've had people in multiplayer that love to sneak up on me, put a shotgun to my visor and give me half a second to say -blam!- before they kill me.

I remember one time when all i had was a RL and a shotgun but my shotgun was out of ammo so i pulled out my RL to shoot down 2 or 3 flood. I shot but just when I shot a little sticky/poppy thingy jumped in the way and I killed myself.... *cries* it was sorta depressing and sad, really.

I was in the basement playing Halo, and it was about 11p.m. I had no lights on, my parents were in the second floor sleeping. I was 12 then, and I was overconfident in my ability to comprehend danger. I was there blasting away at the covies and then the flood came and that was the first time I got scared. I continued playing it in legendary and then bamm!!!. These flood things, invisible or dammed what ever they were started beating the hell out of me. Jesus christ, was I scared, those things looked like a something out of a horror movie. Man honestly I ran all the room(I don't know if I turned my x-box off).

I had a terrible night, kept thinking about those flood. After that day, I have never played 343 GS in my basement. Infact I never play Halo in my basement any more. That was the most unnerving thing that has ever happened to me. That was so freaking scary, I think I pissed my pants!!!

What is it with everyone and 343 GS because i thought that level was pretty easy. I mean once you got a shot gun the flood are nothing more than a novelty. The thing which scared the living -blam!- out of me was the first time i found myself against a gold elite with a plasma sword out in the open. Just as you get onto the bridge on assault on the control room I'm there thinkin yeah its going to be the same as usual. So there i am, normal tactics taking out everyone. I carry on to the end see the doors open and so run back thinkin there's just going to be a few grunts jackals and maybe an elite.Out walks this gold elite and just jumps about 60 feet and almost hits me with its sword and i'm there firing my shotgun like there is no tomorow and its still not going down. By now i'm running like a little -blam!- and praying that its not going to catch me. At this point my heart is pounding and im back where i started at the beginning of the bridge. I turn and round and see nothing, too scared to move i wait hoping that maybe it will come round one side of the path. I look frantically at both sides and still see nothing. The next thing i know its just jumped other the wall im hiding behind and killed me instantly. I didn't play on that level on legendary for some time after that but boy did i have fun watching my mates suffer the way i did.

343 GS couldve' been real scary but the first time I played Halo i was at a freinds and played some level that already had flood. So i sort of knew what would happen.
The scariest part of halo is like when your looking down into a room of flood and blasting them apart, and you think you killed them all so you stop to reload or beat dead things to make them bleed on the floor... and you look up and there's a Human-Flood-Zombie standing very close to you with it's zombie head hanging at it's shoulder smaking you with it's arm and you are like AHHHHHHHH! but then yoiu sort of blow its head off and walk past it and it hits you agai cause it ain't dead!!!!!!!

For me, the scariest moment was during a multiplayer match on Halo PC. I started a game, but no one was joining. I got an IM from a friend, so I let the game go and talked to my friend for a while. Later I remembered that I had a game running, so I switched back to see if anyone had joined my room, and someone had. All I could see was a blue fizzle on my face where a plasma grenade was stuck. I freaked out and fired my pistol blindly. Then I exploded.

Eh, I cant remember the first time I played 343GS...One thing that made me jump is after you shut down the security in the SC. As youre walking out there are like 4-5 invisable Elites, the first time I played that surpirsed me(in a scary way).
The invisable Flood in the armory on The Maw was scary-like too(though it is fun running through the door when it opens and fighting 10+ Flood).
