Is there actually any X-Box game thats on live where you can have more than 2 players. this isn't sarcasm its a genuine question. i think more than likely it will be just two but more would certainly be a bonus.

MotoGP/MotoGP2 lets you play with four people on Live on one Xbox.

As long as they don't make the (multiplayer) levels look like crap just to get a solid fps for four people it's fine by me. I don't see myself using this feature a lot though, offline obviously yes, online no.

But seeing as Halo 2 will have four player splitscreen offline (I presume), I don't see any reason why they wouldn't allow you to play like that online as well.

A racing game has NOTHING to do with a fps . LOL
You have player position (height , speed , direction) , Projectile position, fire trajectory , Vehicle position, Colision position, Colision detection, damage calculation........all this for 4 people on a cable connection ....YEA SURE ....you smoke good things or bungie made a miracle (dont hope for it).....dont even hope for 2

I speak with my hype turned off......

well halo 1 supported 4 players, but halo 2 is a different beast. With all the talk of lesser polygons and less power needed from the main cpu, hopefully 4 players on one xbox will come. You can have like 8 xbox live accounts on one box, so it could be done.
I can imaging though with all the new graphics, it might even be one player per box, I hope not though.

I want 4 per box...

Maybe i am wrong but maybe we wont be able to play 4 player on one box ...... DUDE DONT BE A FOOL with that bumpmapping... SURE it reduce the poly ..... BUT IT ALSO need cpu time to be generated......

i say

Halo 2 multi
4 player split screen
2 player coop split screen

1 player Xbox live
-4 player coop on live (much more hope than speculation)
-16 player ctf , dead match , convi vs human

Sorry, Coylter, I have to disagree. If you can get four on a box for system link, then there would be no reason for a lot of hardcore Halo fans to stick with XBL and not go to XBC and just stay there. I'm pondering the same thing, but if you read some of my other posts, you'll notice you are forgetting several key things, mainly: XBOX Live 3.0! Compression is going to be that much better, and Halo 2 is going to be taylor fit to it. On top of that, if I get a clone of Rainbow Six 3 or Counterstrike but in Halo clothing, somebody is going to get flamed, and I don't mean on here, I'll write letters. There is too much of a Halo fanbase coming froun 3v3 and 4v4 to even consider not having it on one screen, this may limit the number of boxes to a room, but I think they'll have it. This is mostly speculation on my part, but yours is too, don't shoot down hopes with no regard for what technological breakthroughs have taken place in the last three years.

The problem with halo is the vehicle

RS3 had no vehicle thus reducing bandwith load.....

Just look at halo pc .....

I'm only realistic

Lower your hope, dang

Good topic, I've been wondering how they would handle the live support of multple people on one box. Bungie has been surprizingly quite about how live is going to work in this respect. /worried

Chill out, I was just answering Zamamee's question buddy. Which was, if there was any game that featured four-way splitscreen on Live.

I think that there will only be 2 players per box for the simple reason of being even. Not everyone is going to have 4 people per box, and being on different teams while sitting next to each other is why there is split screen offline, it defeats the purpose of having Live enabled multiplayer.

I Hope To God they let you have 2 per box on xbox live. Me and my friend have been a team for a long time, So I really hope you can take a friend on xbox live with you in team death match or what not.

My friends and I were literally just talking about this. There is a game that does 4 player online that is a FPS, Unreal Championship does. I think bungie can do it, the question is will they. I think they might because so many people do it for XBC right now and don't want to lose that ability.

  • 04.13.2004 9:29 AM PDT

I would love to see 4 on one box, however, this may put some strain on the connection. I would like to see what Bungie can do with it. I would definatley not sacrafice framerate, latency, or vast amounts of graphics for 4 players.

If not 4? Get a Router, an extra box or two and some extra wires! Live accounts aren't so hard to get...

  • 04.13.2004 9:47 AM PDT

Unreal sucks compared to halo. If your complaining on load speed then its because u have a slow xbox or PC, probably because most people have those 56k things...not even worth the money...
