Do you guys realize that you are on a Bungie board wasting time ranting about a PS2 FPS? C'mon people, let's get a bit of perspective.
I'm sorry, but KillZone looks like it would get boring in about 2 days and the gameplay is EXACTLY like Halo.
That's so logistically backwards is funny. You predicate all your predictions of Halo 2's supposed glory (a game which you haven't played) on the basis that halo most assuredly rocked the house. You go on to state that KillZone is a DIRECT gameplay copy of Halo, but by for some magical reason - or possibly due to the dual shock - it must inherently suck (though you haven't played it either).
Dude, you've been exposed. You are the very definition of fanboy, as are most of the ranters in this thread.
KillZone looks pretty good, and I must say that I'm impressed with the engine and art in the game. If AI ends up being up to snuff and gurella can accomidate for the lack of finesse in the dual shock thumbsticks(the dead zones are huge, the feedback is lacking, the grip is poor, etc) then Sony will have a killer app on their system, and it'll be an incentive to keep palyers from jumping ship.
If anything MS needs to be prepared to answer the call with games that can go head to head with Metal Gear Solid 3, Gran Turismo 4, GTA:SA, and the big 3 platformers Jak, Ratchet, and Sly.
Back on topic though, let's try to stay focused on everything thats interesting about Halo 2. There's no need to compare it to KillZone, as that just cheapes the experience for all parties involved. Besides, the weekly update comes out tomorrow...
EDIT:I just watched that new video and my original concerns for the game still hold. It looks like the controls suffer from the way the thumbsticks on the dual shock are designed. Hopefully, there'll be time to tune that. Secondly, the AI doesn't seem very intelligent. I love how the narrator is telling the view to quake in fear from enemies that have goggles that let them spot you from miles away right as the player walks right up to a guard that doesn't react. Granted, it's probably an early build, but that shoud have been edited differently.
Still, I'm certian that the final product will be pretty good.
