So... I bought Halo 2 back in October, and played it there a few times, and a few times in November as well, mostly played LIVE tho. The game was running all fine and smooth, no trouble at all.

Now, the first December the 1st, I log in, thinking "Time for some online fun!" only to find the game lag like was it was a pile of crap :|

Alright, before you ask, my computer is all new, bought it 2 months ago, i got a fast internet connection, so don't question that either! In the time I haven't played Halo 2(The last 3 weeks of November) I have not installed anything new, or made any changes on my computer. The only thing that actually happened, was I installed the "LIVE update" that popped up when trying logging into LIVE whilst playing Halo 2, which you have to do to play.

I got tons of games, and they all run totally smooth... Even the ones much bigger than Halo 2, such as "World of Warcraft". I also tried to playe Halo 2, not using online (LIVE), and it was just fine.

It's pathetic! The game can in no way pe played online with this lag!

I've tried to:
1) Uninstall and Reinstall Halo 2.
2) Defragged my computer, even though it's obvious there is nothing wrong with it.
3) Playing LIVE with everything else turned off.
4) Checked if all my drvier were up-to-date.

So here comes the questions:
1) Got a link to the place with info to contact windows on this issue?
2) Have any of you guys had any problems running Halo 2 LIVE smoothly after that last LIVE update?
3) Is this a known issue? If yes, are they trying to fix it now? And if yes to that, then have they said how long it will take?
4) Halo 2 is the only Vista LIVE game I got, but if any of you got another Vista LIVE game, does this run like crap when played LIVE too?

So yeah... This is better be fixed or something, because it's obviously not my computer, nor my internet connection, and I paid for a good game, not for a pile of crap :/

There was another thread about H2V being unbearably laggy not too long ago, I think it's still here. But anyway, apparently, the new GFWL update seemed to bork H2V, and make it unbearably laggy =[ I don't know for sure, but this seems to be a real problem for a lot of people =\

Well, It's good to hear it isn't only me then...

But I hope they fix it then, because it is in no way playable at all.

Halo 2 Vista is a terrible port, so it doesn't bother me too much. If H2V was a solid piece of software, then I'd be krying =[

Oh well, I've played it tonnez, and I've never had to pay for it =D

It was probably some security update or some other nuts and bolts update. The game itself is no longer being developed or fixed. It's sad. I think M$ is more concerned with the Live service itself than H2v.

It was a feature update for LIVE. It brings many of the features of xbox LIVE to PC.

Well there you go. It was not a specific update for H2v.

I'm surprised M$ is still trying to push their LIVE service on PC gamers. I buy 90% of my games off Steam now. M$ can suck it.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

Why do I beg to differ so greatly?

I buy all my games off Steam, too; all except my Playstation 3 games, obviously.

Well you can't buy Halo on Steam. So I doesn't see how it should help me :|

Who said I was trying to help? Mere suggestion for you to perhaps consider VALVe a plausible choice if you cannot make Halo work. It won't be the same, but hey, it does work most of the time.

Good luck making Halo 2 work. If it doesn't, consider Halo 1 because it is just better.

I see. Well I got many of the Valve games, which is great and all... But I still want Halo 2 to work ;o

I do got Halo 1, and that runs all smooths. Whilst I do think Halo 1 is better than Halo 2, I still want Halo 2 to work... I did pay for it afterall.

I lost all respect to Windows, seeing how big a piece of crap LIVE is.
