I believe that too much of that depends on the situation... who you are playing, how many, how observant your opponents are, etc. if you are talking about on multiplayer. if you can be patient and wait for good shots, and not give yourself away rapid firing at someone, then any position on a level has the potential to be 'the best spot.' even running across the open areas of blood gulch or sidewinder can be effective, if everyone else is preoccupied with close range fighting. but that 'best spot' will only be the best for one or two shots, because snipers tend to be extremely annoying and a priority target to remove from play. sitting in one spot the whole game is a death wish.
if you are talking campaign, I really dont think its much of a challenge. its like you are given the hand of god. the covenant had nothing to counter the rifle on Halo CE.
