There was a time when none of us thought that we'd be able to use the Energy Sword...

Or it was debated, just like the bot question :)

maybe in multi when a person gets the sword, and thenthey are killed, it should dissappear like in halo so it remains a hard to get super weapon, so it doesnt turn into another pistol???

I think they should have something like in tribes pc. But have the bots fight back. Or like a call of Duty multiplayer but have allied bots. Or make it so people who have no friends can feel like there in a multiplayer match. I think allied bots would be a good idea.

impossible-its close range weapon. there is a shotgun in halo as well, if you hadnt noticed. and its a one hit kill. forget the lunge, its still not that far and it cant do anything beyond that. jsut like most people dont use a shotgun until they are close range, and they switch to it, i expect the same with the sword....i mean, how else will you use it?

i was just trying to make a point of making the sword a hard to get weapon, so it makes it that much better of a weapon

That was just a screenshot though. Bungie could of easily put some ODSTs in zanzibar in order to take a screenshot. Bungie have not said there will be bots so don't go around telling people about things that are not confirmed!

As for the "hinting" in another post I think (if you are referring to the updates) that you talking about the network testing. putting AI on a server and then leaving them to run around and stuff so they can collect data over night instead of actually wasting time playing.

I doubt that will happen though. When wort drops the sword it disappears. besides the shotty is about as powerful as the energy sword and that doesnt evapourate when you drop it does it?

why would they put ODST there just for a screenshot and if you look at the MC hes a lighter color green and he has a sign on his shoulder which you can only have in multiplayer and i looked on HBO screenshots and its said it was a multiplayer screenshot

But it was just a screenshot made for the E3 barrage and it looks cool.
Just because it has ODSTs in it, it doesnt mean there are going to be bots.
Basically you shouldnt say its confirmed based on a controversial screenshot!

mate, that's the smartest thing i've heard all day. "i know this might be a waiste (by the way - it's spelt 'waste') of forum space.."

how correct you were bcarv21, it is a waste of forum space and especially my time...not including everyone elses.

Note to bcarv21 - don't post again...ever

As far as the posts about the "hinting", whoever posted may have been referring to the most recent update (7/2) that mentions the AI and all the CENSOREDs... in which I doubt he was talking about network testing, as it was mentioned how "fun" it was.

Y do u morons fight over something like this. Ur acting like little 5 yr olds. Everybodies opinion is alright even if they're wrong.

I think there should be bots like on Counter Strike. Just as equal as the player, but they must have taken a long time on those bots though. Just SHARING my opinion.

Or they should have something kinda like the Carrington Institute in Perfect Dark, where you can do Combat Training or Firing range. Because I doubt that they will get bots in time.

The thing is, we don't know if they have implemented bots already or not... They could have worked on bots months ago... who knows?? (only bungie)

NO WAY! after you take down a foe that has a plasma sword you deffinatly deserve to get it your self.

Well, the last update does have some interesting stuff to it.

"Damian got CENSORED with AI working, it’s fun, but we run the risk of having CENSORED turn into a CENSORED. A CENSORED with attitude, but it does make CENSORED less CENSORED which isn’t really a good thing."

----My guess is something like this...

Posted by: Frankie in the last update!
Damian got the MULTIPLAYER game with AI working, it’s fun, but we run the risk of having MULTIPLAYER turn into a TOTAL FRAGFEST. A FRAGFEST with attitude, but it does make MULTIPLAYER less TACTICAL which isn’t really a good thing."

The key here is in the first sentence, particularly the first clause.* According to grammatical rules, and Frankie has a good grasp of English, if he were referring to a creature's AI he would use a possessive form. "creature's AI working" for example. Thus, he's probably not talking about an object in the game, be it creature or even a weapon with AI.

Since he is using the phrase "with AI" he creates a situation where there is the possibility that this "thing", whatever it is, may work without AI. That leaves only two possibilities, either they've had a creature they've been having trouble with they've only just now finished (Which I find a bit unlikely since they announced that the game was DONE almost a month ago and that they're working on final tuning of all textures) or they've managed to get AI into multiplayer. Considering this is precisely what they said they'd do *IF* they had time after the game was done I think this more likely.

----------
*A clause, for those that do not know is a phrase in a compound sentence, in this case everything before the first comma.

I would have never thought of using someone else's grammatical speech to fill in the blanks...
