Something that has been bothering me for a while is how easy it was to kill the Brutes in the E3 2003 demo.

It only took about 3 or 4 shots to take it out, or the explosion from the car.

Reading FS, when they first appear, 3 of them killed 1 Spartan, took 2 out, and MC managed to get rid of them somehow.

The two just don't seem to add up.

Dearest PriceChild

The Brute only died in a couple of shots because they used a GRUNTS AI for the BRUTE'S. It's a demo. So the dude playing the demo couldn't get his butt kicked by his own game ( no offense ) so they made the Brute weaker. So don't worry about that. I'm sure the Brute will be strong with destructible headplates that block cheap snipers like me. Yeah dude I wouldnt worry. It's not the final build.

never thought of the way you're suggesting they used the grunts AI, that's quite clever *claps*

They'd better be 10 times harder in the final build... they need to replace the Elites as the race you fear.

I like to think that the furosity in the scripted warthog hijacking that the brutes showed is more of what we should be expecting from brutes in the campaigne mode. I kind of imagin them as a mixture between a flood combat form, an elite, and a hunter. Which is pretty scary to think about. I believe i read somewhere that inorder to get a head shot you need to first knock off their metal plated helmet first. So between their strong body armor, their lumbering strength, and their intelligence i'm sure bungie will make them far from a pushover in single player.

One can only wonder at what new tricks they'll be giving the hunters to make them the brutally dangerous adversaries that they should be.

It was a grunt with a Brute's model.
