Any suggestions are welcome.

First, head on over to the underground. There should be a sticky about how the Marathon series came out for free now. Try, and beat all 3, because you haven't gamed until you have.

I personally suggest If you like shooters that you try any of the unreals. If you like Real Time Strategy games, Starcraft is an oldie but a goodie, still played by LOTS of people. if you'd prefer a newer RTS, try Rise of Nations, Gold Edition. The only RPG that i appreciate on PC is Diablo 2, with the expantion. Another oldie but a goodie, it also is played by many people still.

Do NOT play Warcraft III. It may havfe flashy graphics, but it falls WAY short in gameplay.

Please, don't leave these forums, even if you do go onto different games.

Hope this helps,
Yout3

*puts on flame retardant suit, grabs fire hose* Warcraft 3 is very good, is has alot better gameplay than starcraft, and there are alot of different online maps that people have created. Another good game I play (and dev) is Neverwinter Nights. It is a D&D 3rd edtion game, and some of the online moduals that are there are really well done. I am building one right now, It is called Dragon Realm CEP, check it out, when i get it done...... There is also World Of Warcraft, it is alittle shakey right now, but it is very good. Half life 2 is also good, but steam sucks.

OMG Baldur's Gate! My all time favourite games! I would definately recomend them. Neverwinter Nights was a let down to me. I found the combat too slow and the story repetative, but thats just me. Warcraft III is a very good game. The level editor is also very good. I myself made a few maps and found it moderately easy to do. I would recomend that too. Now, World of Warcraft. If you have a steady income, it might be ok but as I don't I can't afford the $14 a month fee. I hear it is good though and I've seen chars being sold for $70 on ebay. Half life 2. If you haven't played this game, well, you just have to. Steam is alittle annoying but its not that bad.

Heyyo,

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will definately be a highly-regarded buy for any hardcore FPS lover dude. It's gonna be huge, I bet bigger than HaloPC, BF1942, and many other shooters.. probably even bigger than Q3A and UT2k4 (yes, I said it..).

F.E.A.R. comes out in june, so should Battlefield 2, those should be good buys. I'm mainly gonna buy F.E.A.R. to tie me over ti'll S.T.A.L.K.E.R. comes out. ;)

If you don't know what Baldur's Gate is, it's a D&D game like Neverwinter Nights but... different. It's very good and very long. If you get both with the expantions your looking at over 100 hours atleast. Unless you cheat.

I forgot Neverwinter Nights (w/both expantions). That is a SWEET game. My best char made w/o cheats is... Lvl 30 Sorcerer, Lvl 10 Red Dragon Disciple(plz correct my spelling on that word if its wrong). I won't type his feats and skils and stats and equipment, but yeah... However, it sucks for LAN, 'cause each person needs their own separate CD key.

Blizzard Inc. really disappointed me when I heard that you had to pay to play WoW. I mean I paid for the game on shelves, I'm NOT going to pay a monthly fee to play it!

I am also disappointed in Blizzard with WC3. All it is is get a high lvl hero, and womp people. No strategy involved. In SC, there were multiple strategies, and games were interesting. In WC3, if you get 1 or 2 high lvl heroes, the game is over.

I hear Gnop! is coming out from bungie...

Hope i wasn't TOO pissy,
Yout3

When you think about it, the 10$ a month is worth it. To support the game, to make patches, to make servers, to pay game masters etc all costs money(this is why we probibly won't see another halo pc patch, cuse there isn't enough money in the product to support it. GO GO M$). Nwn is a really good game, for online play. The campain sucked really badly. The toolset is a really need feature, and the hak paks add more depth to the game.

Thanks for ALL the suggestions, guys! And no flaming so far! w00t!!!

Now to business...

By the way, I prefer games with an online component as long as the game doesnt charge for online use and arent ultra-consuming online games. College doesnt give you too much time...or money...

Are the Marathon games really free? Really? 0.0

Ive heard of that FEAR game. Sounds like fun, seems reminescent of Doom, what with things creeping around a scientific complex...

Again, thanks for the suggestions!

ps-yout3, i WILL stay on the forums...dont worry...

I never got into Battle.net cause it was.. uh.. stupid. If you are a noob, there is a VERY high learning curve but the campaign and all the user created maps are good too. You might try runescape although that can be very addicting and has poor graphics. Planeshift is like that but its only in beta and is buggy, has a terrible updating system but better graphics. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I can't believe I forgot! How could I forget! Guild Wars! Its coming out on the 28th and is IMO the best game this year.
