hiz... i've been having pretty much the same problems as a lot of the peeps here... just got Halo 2 for my new 360... i've tried all the fixes here but still can't get it to work... so i'm gonna list my problems here hoping someone can help...
1st off... i can't update my game on xbox live... everytime i do, it just gives me a blank screen and doesn't do anything... i only ever had a silver membership, so i'm not sure whether tat matters...
but tat's not too bad coz i don't play online... i usu do offline coops with my frens... but the thing is... i can't play the Oracle stage (which means i can't play anything from there on)... the levels in the campaign work fine until the Arbiter level... then when i reach the bit where the cutscene leads into the Oracle stage, the game drops me out and tells me that my disc is dirty or damaged... even loading the stage from the level select screen doesn't work... it still tells me tat my disc is dirty or damaged which i'm sure is not the case... i've went back to the store and changed the disc twice but it still doesn't work...
i've nv encountered this problem when i've played halo 2 on my old xbox... even without updating, the campaign works fine... but it just doesn't work on my 360...
pls tell me there is a way to fix this....... :(The only thing I can add is something you have to be sure about. If you don't have saves you really need, delete everything off your HDD that has to do with H2. Clear your HDD of anything H2 and turn your box off. Unplug all wires and then plug them back in (except for the CAT6 cable) and restart. After it reboots play H2 and see. Leave the CAT6 cable unplugged until you find out if it will play. If you get the 360 dash, turn off the 360 (with the disk still inside). Then restart and H2 should load without the 360 dash. If you have a Map Pack disk, do not install it, just try to play H2 Campaign only.
If your HDD has a bad sector right at Oracle, then maybe it will install in a different sector that works after you try the above.
