Rebooted 3 times and still wont work. Anyone know what's going on? Thanks
Cleared cache, then started Halo2, then it asked to update system, then it started Halo2, but still get same message.

Hey guys! I'm having the same problem. I played last night with no problem on Halo 2 xbox live with my normal xbox. Now when I choose "optimatch" it provide the message " Sorry, We've failed to update some configuration files requred for matchmaking. Sign out of Xbox Live, then sign back in to fix this problem." I've done so a handfull of times and nothing.
Is Matchmaking on xbox live for halo 2 Down?

wow this many hours and no announcement from Bungie about this matchmaking problem. Is this how they do business? So this is what happens when your fan base is large, you then can afford to have really poor service? sounds like the washington redskins
I had a friend that was having the same issue today, though he is able to play now without any problems. May have been some sort of system foul up somewhere. According to Bungie as of right now there are around 600 online in Halo 2 matchmaking.
If for some reason you still can't play, you can try deleting everything that is Halo 2 off your hard drive, maps, game saves, all of it. Then clear the cache on your console, and redownload and reinstall everything. Sometimes as you play files get corrupted for whatever reason and that would prevent you from being able to play.
