Hopefully that works, if it doesn't I am out of ideas. You may have to call Microsoft for some support help.

When/if a fix comes out to get the Halo 2 maps that nobody is able to get right now I will update this post along with the first one in this thread.

I deleted all of my Halo 2 items on my Xbox 360 harddrive and reset the cache, but I still cannot connect to Xbox Live. It brings up the menu asking if I want to troubleshoot the problem. This is strange because I used to be able to play Halo 2 on my 360 about a year ago.

I've looked through the major posts on the first page and done some searching elsewhere, but it seems that no one has come up with a surefire solution. Any more suggestions?

The only thing that comes to my mind may be that your lacking the proper backwards compatibility software to run the game. I would suggest you call Microsoft support and see what they have to say.

Subject: Halo 2 online problems? The maps are back up for download now.

I intend to live forever, or die trying,

so far, so good.

I have misplaced my Halo 2 Map Pack DVD, and do not know how to access the halo 2 download content on my 360.

But I am certain I have installed the Maps from the Halo Map Pack, before losing it. But can't see the maps. When I loaded Halo 2, the other day. I received an error with Halo 2: Failed to load content.

And since trying to play Halo 2, I now have been receiveng an error: E68 - which I believe is an issue with the HDD.

I still have my original xbox, but have changed my GamerTag name.

Are the maps free now, or do we still require to purchase them.

Can someone please PM with things to try.

Thank You.

THOMSY Aus.

Stupid Question.

Where do I go to download the Halo 2 Maps. I have the Halo 2 Map Pack DVD, but can't find it.

I had installed them, but tried to play Halo 2 on the weekend, and received error: Failed to load content.

And I had none of the new maps. But I was on Live, and could go into MatchMaking, but didn't as I didn't have any of the new mpas.

You must have passed right by the maps on your way to playing online. The last page before you go online gives you choices and one of those choices is 'Content Download'. Those are the map packs.

Sorry if these have been answered before but I have a few questions. How many map packs are there? Are they all available via the multiplayer map pack disc? If not, are they still downloadable via the marketplace?

A ten year dream finally realized. I finally have my own computer! Look out Internet and The World; Here Comes Tekknight! (12/22/06)

Great info! I've been trying to connect to Halo 2 since September! I hope this works. I wanted to end my Halo career on a nice even hundred number. I wanted to play 61 more games.

Not sure on the exact number of map packs out there, but they are all able to be downloaded from the content download section in the game itself not on the marketplace. I think all of them are on the map pack disc, except for Tombstone and Desolation.

I called Microsoft support and learned I can't connect to Xbox Live because my college network is running on moderate NAT - which I guess Halo 2 does not cooperate with very well. I contacted my college administration and they said this cannot be changed for security reasons - sounds like BS to me.

I tried to bridge the connection between my laptop's wireless connection and my 360 (by connecting the two with the 360's Ethernet cable), but when the bridge was established, my internet was blocked on my laptop by Cisco Clean Access Agent, which my college mandates be on all Windows computers to ensure they are secure. I have to login with that program to have access to the Internet in the dorms.

So I'm at a loss for what to do. I guess the only time I'll be able to play Halo 2 online before it goes offline is next week at home over Spring Break.

It doesn't sound like there is anything you can do, the main problem is there is too much security stuff blocking your connection for it to work.

Battlefield 3 sucks.

i downloaded the maptacular map pack and when i clicked off it it had a black screen, then my wireless connector has gone from a green light to a red.
is this supposed to happen?

I honestly don't know, nobody has asked this before. My guess would be that its normal if everything worked out fine in the end, if it didn't you should just have to restart your console to get things up and running again.

A solid attempt at trying some of the methods listed in the original post would probably get your issue sorted out efficiently, one of the major suggestions being to clear your cache. If that doesn't work, the first thought that comes to my mind is that you're not experiencing issues with downloadable content but rather with your disc, in which case you should either grab hold
of a new game or take a shot at cleaning your current disc.

Nobody knows what map(s) it is that are getting damaged. The only way to find out would be to remove each map pack and redownload them one at a time til you don't get the damaged content message anymore.

Clear everything that is Halo 2 off your hard drive, then clear the cache. Also make sure you have less than 4 profiles on your console. After you do that stuff you should be able to put in the game and download the updates. Once you have the updates go to the xbox live section of the game and select content download to get all the maps for the game.

If that doesn't work give xbox support a call.

Ok I just deleted all the maps, but I have way more than 4 profiles. Is that a big deal? And do we need to delete the game data too?

Also, the maps are taking an extremely long time to download. Any suggestions?

Clouds don't smell, they taste of butter. And tears.
-Sheogorath, Shivering Isles-

I'm having problems.

I get into Halo 2, select my profile and XBL account, then press start and select Xbox Live. I go down to Content Download, press A, and it comes up saying stuff about exiting Halo 2 to download stuff. I select Exit Halo 2, then I get a black screen.

I've cleared the Cache, and redownloaded the update, no difference. The same thing happens on my Dad's xbox (we have 3 Xbox 360s and 3 copies of Halo 2) On mine, I've tried 2 copies, and on Dad's the 3rd copy.

What's wrong. Am I doing something wrong?
