So guys....what caused you to get this addiction? I remember the first time I saw it at college I immeditly(sp) ran into my room grabbed up all my PS2 junk and traded it in for 3 controllers an Xbox and Halo. For the next week I think I went to 4 of my classes and beat the game on every difficulty level except for Legendary. Lets not forget that I also probably played MP for 6 hours a day as well.....o the memories....whats yours?!?

It was my first X-Box game. I got an X-Box for Christmas the year it came out (Which was disappointing to me then, because I had wanted a GameCube, but I'm happy I have it now.), and I went game shopping two days later, 'cause I had no games. I looked at the Halo sitting on the shelf at BJ's (A wholesale store, in case you don't know), and I said, "Hey, that game's supposed to be good, I think I'll get it." And I've been happy ever since.

I remember the first time I saw it at college

I got my first taste of Halo at college as well. I was in the cafeteria for the first time ever. As I stood in line counting pocket change I casually glanced at the corner of the room. I was suprised to see a TV in a small, sectioned off area I later determined to be the student lounge. I was even more suprised to see what was on the TV: a FPS. Curious, I made my way to the lounge and found an Xbox with a about seven guys huddled around it. I've never met any of these guys before, so I kept my distance at first. Watching, waiting. Until I worked up the nerve to say," Hey, lemme get in the next game." My demand was first met with some brief, quizzical glances before one of them said," Alright, man." When turn rolled around, I did my best to familiarize myself with the controls of this game called "Halo", and then proceeded to WHOOP THEIR MONKEY ASSES AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!! I left that lounge three hours later with a new favorite game, seven new friends, and a *blam*load of respect.

My good friend and next door neighbor called me up one Saturday morning not long after he'd purchased an Xbox to see if I'd like to play a new game he'd gotten with the console. Eight hours, two levels, and a couple of really pissed off wives later, we put down the controllers. Until both wives went to work the next day...

I had first played it with my uncle in Colorado (He lives in South Park btw) around when it first came out. He told me about it and it sounded like it sucked. Lots of aliens and plasma guns. Well anyways I got there, and a few of his Ranger buddies came over (He was an army Ranger) and to just sum it up for you guys

2v2
Uncle on my team
Versus two trained Rangers
Lol
I got owned

But I loved the game but had no XBOX. So until last christmas I had no console, or Halo.
Halo Rocks :D

For me, the addiction didn't start till quite late.

My friend had just bought an XBOX and bought Halo the very week it came out in the UK. He invited me to hang out and stay the night to put the game through its paces. I never really like FPS, but playing Halo changed that.

We carried on playing the game every so often through the month until we completed it on Heroic. The next month we played MP a hell of a lot. Eventually we felt we were good enough to take on Legendary and found it quite challenging (but not too difficult). It didn't take too long to complete.

As I didn't have any source of income (and I'm not a spoilt brat) it took me a while before I could get an XBOX.

Straight after Christmas (28th December) I bought an XBOX, 2 controllers, Halo and Unreal Championship. I played Halo quite often from then on.

As the trend eventually died with my friends I carried on to play. Some re-visit the game every so often, getting back into it and playing some great LAN games with me and others.

It was around the time that I signed into the Bungie forum that I became addicted. I was bored and searched Halo. Now, everytime I come online, I sign into here.

I began downloading glitch videos, Warthog jump videos etc. and visiting this forum on a regular basis.

In one sentence I would say:
It was the knowledge of the fans on this site that got me addicted

When i first played it i didnt like it
I had bought it at a store and at first i found it really confusing but then i got the hang of it and i made it to 343 Guilty Spark but i couldnt finish the level because i couldnt find my way out of the building... so i didnt play it for along time until one day a friend who had betean it on legendary came over and beat the level for me, turns out i was like 3 seconds away from getting out of the building but i just didnt no it. And then from then on i was good to go and now ive betean it on heroic, but i havent played it for along time.
