There has been a lot of debate about various things, much of which has at least something to do with duel wielding.
First Debate: The M6D Pistol
This WILL be in Halo 2. Straight from the mouths of Bungie. Check out the F.A.Q. section or message me if you have any doubts.
Also, the power of the pistol has fallen under fire. Chances are that, duel wielded weapons will be far less accurate than if used alone. Also, zoom will probably be disabled for it, these two things obliterate almost every advantage the pistol previouly had, if duel wielded. This paragraph is all speculation, so don't set it in print yet!!!
Second Debate: Duel Wieldable Weapons
Only one-handed weapons can be dual wielded. A good rule of thumb in deciding if it is one-handed is: if the gun is about a foot or less long, or if your hands are inches apart in holding it, then it is dual wieldable. The rule of thumb is fairly valid, but may not be what Bungie uses in deciding if it's dual wieldable or not.
Third Debate: Grenades/Meleeing
These I know nothing about, but it would make sense that you couldn't do either while dual wielding.
Retardation: The Battle rifle will not be dual wieldable. Nor will shotguns.
Balancing: I covered some of this in my first paragraph, but I will overview some of the things that will most likely be done to balance dual wielded weapons.
Longer reload time
No zoom
Decreaced accuracy
No third weapon (you won't have any other guns aside from the two being dual wielded)
No grenading
No meleeing (debatable)
Don't start a debate about whether or not the M6D pistol will be in Halo 2; it will be.
Any questions???
