If you are going to make a "new" rocket laucher I think a good way to balance it out would be a faster reload time versus a smaller impact/damage area.
Then again I would be happy if they took the RL out of the game I can't stand those types of guns in games. I always found it rediculous that a weapons most effective use was not to shoot at the enemy but the ground beneath it.
Anyways aren't RLs usually used against hardened positions? i.e. Pill Boxs, Houses, your mom, and so forth? And unless you make an amazing shot and get the rocket/RPG through a window, door, or orifice the most damage would come from the concussive force, and schrapnel (spelling). So that if you are hiding behind a wall, or hill, or pillows, the damage should be low. But I would love to have a ear ringing effect if there were large explosions in your/the MC's immediate area.
I hope they use a different model also for damage with explosives RL/grenades. If you have a target in a small room and you toss agrenade in there the damage should be much higher because the energy has no where to go and bounces back and forth creating everyones favorite "salsa effect" while if you are in a wide open area the damge should be less because the energy can disperse easily.
Anywho just a thought
