Halo2 will have 10 levels. Now don't shoot me down just because I'm speculatin' real good, but Bungie says the game is "5x the size", and the levels are "5x as large"...so do the math.
Now, it all depends on the difficulty setting.
Think Halo1 on Normal (default setting). All ten levels could take several hours unless you do some serious "cheating". And you probably have every weapon, health pack, and vehicle location memorized. AND you know what is behind every door on every level. I am willing to say that somebody totally new to Halo would require at least a week to beat it on Normal.
But you're better than that, right? You've played Halo1 on Legendary, and know all the cool tricks.
You won't on Halo2.
Old things are new again.
I personally consider anyone who already claims to beating Halo2 (on normal) in any less than 3 days a little crazy. =P I think the vast majority of "normal Halo experts" (those who will not spend 22 hours a day playing Halo2) will require at LEAST a week. And that is if they do not get side-tracked by Xbox Live...
