Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Use FPS Limiter to limit the frames per second in the game. I used 60, so I created a shortcut as such:

c:\fpslimiter\fpslimiter.exe /f:60 "c:\program files\microsoft games\halo 2\halo2.exe"

Works like a charm. Hope this helps someone. Make sure vysnc is OFF!!

Methinks that the code monkeys didn't do their job very well...

It just so happens that my crappy little card runs at just about 60 FPS, tops. So I never really have much of a framerate issue.

'Tis a real shame, though. Damn developers >_<

Yeah, if your card gives you 60 FPS that's pretty good. I get between 90-180 and when it gets past 90 the mouse starts to get stuttery and slow. So you're probably lucky.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Problem is you can turn, spin, and shoot faster than the mouse can keep up...terrible flaw...limiting your framerate does help...this is the first game I can ever remember playing with v-sync on (60hz). Node's frame limiter idea probably does about the same...it helps, but if you are used to lighting fast reactions it doesn't help quite enough. After playing the campaign, even the reduced mouse lag made multiplayer totally lame. Add in the controller auto aim, and you are even more screwed. You can get used to it and probably get good nonetheless, but the game isn't worth the time and effort it would take.

Sadly that's true. I spent so much time trying to get it to work, just to find out it's really not that fun after all.

Epic thread deserves epic bumpage. More people need to know about this. While I don't need it, it's already helped a few of my friends out >:3
